I was wondering what people of this forum thought about the concept of pot pot shove for value betting in the micros. I dont bet up to pot because I feel that now fish in the micros do not call pot bets any longer. Furthermore, I find that fish fold to my shoves on the river rather than call them, causing me to miss out value on the river bet which is obviously the section with the most value. Is pot, pot, shove an outdated method to gain value in the micros now?

If they're folding to it, you're obviously not doing it enough. Sounds like a great bluff linethough if fish are calling 2 big bets and then folding to river shoves. Doubt that's happening as often as you're thinking it is though so you might want to watch bluffing that way. :)

I bet about 2/3 to 3/4 pot and try to keep bet sizes the same to disguise my cbets with my value bets. Same for turn so Im not betting pot but I find that unless the hand is limped into and the pot is really small, villains do not call pot bets although they do call close pot bets. The pot is usually big enough and my stack small enough that by the river, a shove is a slightly larger overbet of the pot but then villain folds. It might be that since I play around lunch time in Europe, there are less fish? I heard that 6pm and the weekends are the best times to play although alot of people say that time does not matter. Its not like I cant find fish.

No one (almost no one) is paying attention to your bat sizing. You could literally bet 1/2 pot every time you have air and bet 3/4 pot every time you have TP+ and be just fine through say 25nl.

what WV says. dont bet the same size against fish trying to balance, its 100% irrelevent. As for bet bet shove, it still works a ton, doesnt need to be full pot but there are certain boards that near pot, near pot shove is best and stuff, other boards where you only need 1/2 pot etc... I think if anything betting pot makes the fish call more they always think you're bluffing :)

Unless your hand is hitting at the river, I think you are betting big late, make them pay for the draws they are on. Bet the flop and turn more, try checking the river, if you act first, maybe they will try a steal.
