Hey all,

I want to ask what is the best strategy for SNG's?

I play on pokerstars and I paticipate in the 4$ 180 sng's.

I reach prices almoust but seem to run in to hardcore poker players.

Greets,
Neo

Many threads are already posted on freeroll playing. Browse around and read some of them. Study, practice and someday you will become one of the "hardcore poker players".

Well freerolls are different than SNG's!

Thats what i know now.

Now i am doing some turbo's and omg, those are preditors.

But i'm in the money 2 times now in the 12$ sng. Losing money makes you learn reeally quickly.

Anyone some tips?

Advice #1: Don't play turbos unless you know ICM really really well (making correct moves as close to 100% as possible). Its all about ICM in turbos.

For the standard SNGs (10 seated, though) i like to see a lot of flops cheap early. LP call unraised/min raised with anything from 46s+ and any pocket pair, MP call the same if the table is pretty passive and there is not a big chance to get raised, though i hate early positions and would fold anything below AJs. Also make sure you have some limpers in front of you as staying heads up with BB wont make the trash profitable. These trash hands are easy to get rid of if missed a flop (play only flush/straight draws depending on the odds offered, and be aggressive on the rare cases when you hit two pair or better). There are cases when you can take small pots on the flop while holding air in your pocket, but be careful with that, you need to have a really good read on your opponents to make it work.

The are a lot of situations when i call 68s, the flop comes A68 and someone holding ace is eventually willing to put all his chips in the middle until the showdown.

After your stack makes 30BB or less start playing your normal game.

And late in the tournament it's all about ICM again.

hmmm, im the exact opposite, i don't want to play too many hands early on in sngs....I wait for top hands and then loosen up later with a bigger stack when people aren't playing as many cards
