depends, what limit do you play?

i'm playing NL10 and i'm going to move up to NL25 and so far for me the book that helped me to improve is building a bankroll by Pawel nazarewicz also a good book is "Easy game vol.1 and 2" by "balugawhale"

I still like Small Stakes No Limit Holdem by Ed Miller et al., I've read it about 3 times now.

Also, Easy Game as mentioned above is a good read to get you on the right path. I have the 3rd Edition, which has some updates, footnotes, further thoughts and extra chapters on the previous editions by Andrew Seidman.

I have logged maybe an hour playing cash holdem, so I am very new to it, been playing tournament style. So i am playing the cheapest they offer at bovada 2 cent 5 cent.
Thanks for all your help.

Best for absolute beginners that struggle ar 2NL or 5NL is still BlackRain book. Maybe for 10 NL also. After this when you have a good understanding for ABC poker the Small Stakes No Limit Holdem is probabely the best choice. THe ABC poker makes you a big winner at micros and a marginal or breakeven player at 25 NL or higher. Small Stakes No Limit Holdem answer almost all the questions you have at things that ABC poker does not cover , situations you've meet and do not know how to deal with with basic strategy. But for an absolute beginner Small Stakes No Limit Holdem it is 90% mambo jambo. Probebly everytime you learn something there new pathways open for every single bit of information. At least this is how i feel.

You're probably right, and I forgot about Blackrain's book specifically aimed at beginners.

In my humble opinion one of the best cash game poker books is Professional No-Limit Hold 'em: Volume I
by Matt Flynn (Author) , Sunny Mehta (Author) , Ed Miller (Author)

No-limit hold em was once only a tournament game. Cash games were rarely spread in conventional poker rooms, let alone the Internet. All of that changed when the game exploded on television. No-limit cash games started sprouting up at casinos of all types. No-limit hold em is now the most popular form of poker. Tournaments pushed it to the forefront, and a great deal of money can also be won here despite that fact, many players feel frustrated with their results. They win some money, only to lose it all on one botched hand. This book teaches you how to play and think like a professional. It shows how to size your bets, manage the pot, manipulate your opponents, know when to go all-in, and avoid the big mistake. Do you understand critical no-limit concepts like The REM Process, The Commitment Threshold, and Stack-To-Pot Ratios? If not, this is the book for you.

The person I was responding to posted a link to a pdf of Harrington on Holdem. Perhaps it is you who should seek their clue card. ;)

No problem. I probably should have reported the link myself, when it was posted. But, I was on my phone.

I really did like Harrington on Cash (1 and 2). They're both really good books. One of these days I am going to check out his online 6-max book. I just have too many books on my reading list, at the moment, to buy another book that will be ignored for a few months.
