Beginner in cash games advice on limits?

Hello friends,

I've been playing mostly tourneys in casino's. I also began playing table games at the $6-3 limit. I have been holding my own (up about $20.00) having played about 40 hours at the tables.

A friend said that the rate I am playing is too low, that I should play $2.00 no limit hold-em. Buy in for $200. She said that is a good way to go because people call all bets at the lower limit.

Is she right?

I have the amount to buy in for that but I would be scared to play $18-9. Which would be easier to play? No limit or set limits?

How much is your bankroll?

I definately wouldnt reccomend starting at 200nl. Especially if you dont have much ring experience.






edit: although they will respect your raises at that level. jk

200nl in a casino is as low as you can go and the standard of play is horrible.

Also you've won $20 in 40 hours at $3/$6?? That's not so good. Even a smallish WR at that level should earn you about $6/hr.

depends on how big your bankroll is and if u really want to make some money or take poker as a past time.

200nl is a joke at most casinos. You generally get alot of tourists looking to win a few bucks. Go up higher if your bankroll can sustain the variance.
