Whats happening guys,
So basically im an inspriring Poker player, play abit live but mainly online ( cash only). A big part of poker which im sure ure all aware of is figuring out what the opposition is thinking, his theory on the hand he is in, and his overall strategy for playing poker. Once you figure out the way an opponents plays, thinks and his general logic on poker it is is much easier / porfitable to play that opponent, a basic example of this is many beginners in poker will bet pot when they think they are strong, but at the same time many beginners will do the complete opposite and min bet when strong.

So as at the moment i'm building a steady cash flow and playing alot of lower stakes while i tweak my game, i was hoping that the beginners of poker, or players who dont devote alot of time to the game could share their views, logic and general poker strategy.

So if any poker players who have been the game for LESS than 2 years could kindly shares the views on the game and the way the paly it i would really appreciated it (please note this is not a thread to be negative to anyones game), if you could tell me any info about the following:

- Starting hands you like to play
- Flops you like, what bets you call when not hit your hand
- When you bet what thought goes into sizing, do you wait for them to bet if you hit or do you bet as of when you hit, will you call draws regardless of size, will you bet draws, how many streets you would call on average with under pairs,
- When will you fold a hand if you hit
- Do you play big hands quick or slow
- When will you bluff

Im just looking for any info that you would like to share about your views on poker and how you play, it is also an oppertunity for more experience players on here to give ideas and tips on where you can imrpove going forward.
Anything you would like to share would be great!!!!!

sharing plays/or just a line or two.

sharing plays /or just a line or two.
starting hands should be the likely strong hands in position/and always keeping the opponet guessing by changing gears.sometimes you cant always get in though depending what point of the game it is, and will have to fold some monsters or put your tournament life on the line.
Im no where near a pro player but have played so many tournaments that i can usually make good good enough read on the person im in against, im usually on the money to what they are on.i would say skill has alot to do with the online poker, and luck hits out on us half the time, hope some knowlegable poker players gives some better answers to this post. good and interested questions.I have found that the cardschat forum has some of the best logical anwers to many questions.goodluck to you:)

I have been playing Holdem for about 6 years. I started out online, then went live in league events. A lot of my live play since 06 has been MTTs , I just started playing Ring games since the beginning of July. I find that the players in MTTs play very eratically, I feel it is watching too much TV play, and they think it is ok to emulate the hands they are watching. I see way too many players chase to the river in MTTs.
I Ring games, where the money is out of their pockets, I play Ring at Foxwoods, The players are more realistic in their bets, I feel it is due to the fact that it is real money they are betting. I have also evaluated , that when these players are playing Ring games and they bet big, they have the cards.
As far as starting hands, as the rule goes , it all depends on chips, position, and players.

I dont play cash games i play MTT but ive been playing for 8+ years, I like playing suited connectors along with the obvous big pairs. I bluff when players show weakness, semi bluff i should say i gotta have outs like flush and opened ended str8's. Position is key- Big cards win. Patience 3 keys to success good luck at the tables babyfaceassasin
