Hello everybody, I'm new to the forum and I'm starting a brand new poker adventure. I've been playing and studying the game in the last 2 years with some results, but due to financial difficulties I had to withdraw my few winnings. Now I'm trying to beat the micros in the italian pokerstars, I started with 50 euros of bankroll, grinded a frustrating nl2 for 2 weeks and got to 120euros, now I'm thinking to move up to nl5 as I don't see many differences between the 2 levels.
How should I set my "level up" plans?
Minimum buy-ins to beat nl10 and nl20?
I'm playing zoom nl5 and play super nitty and almost only in position, very abc and it seems profitable, do you have any advice?

I'm a new player so probably my questions would make you laugh, but please help.

Also do you know some ways to get some coaching at a reasonable price?

I would recommend you to bring just as much as 1 to 3 % of your bankroll to one table, just to be certain. If you know that you got them you can use less buy-ins, but since you havent played there you cant be certain.

And another friendly suggestion, its better to be a big fish in a small ocean, than to be a small fish in a big ocean.

Moving up isn't just about having enough buyins to satisfy an arbitrary BRM guideline. It's also about having enough game. The simplest gauge of this is win rate per 100. The higher this is, the more likely that you can be competitive at the next level up.

You might also want to consider adding tables instead of moving up. Your rate per 100 is likely to drop a bit, but your per hour rate should increase.

I'm following these basic concepts.
1 open up nearly always in position, cold calling small pairs, 3betting 88+.

2 folding almost everytime dei show power, like when they check raise flop/turn, i only answer when i get a set. Sounds weak i know, but they always seem to have something when they do that. So i rather fold and invest my chips when I'm stronger than TPTK.

3 beginning to 3bet super nitty player in position with 22+.

Any suggestion?

Theres no need to do anything fancy at 2NL, just play ABC and bet for value a ton and youll be fine.

Really the cards shouldnt matter all that much at these stakes. Play in posiiton, isolate the crap out of everyone and raise the limpers. C-bet, and bet for value.

Thank you very for the nice advices.
How many hands you think I should play ?
I know it depends on many factors, but what do you think should be the avarage ammount of hands to try and beat a game?

I can play nearly 1500 hands every day, plus on spare days more than 3k

I always open 2 zoom tables and 2 regular 6max tables.
This gives me approximatily 700 hands x hour.

It is not how many hands you play, but how many hands can you maintain your A game for. It is good to set goals for hands played but don't sacrifice getting in hands just for the sake of playing. Also at this point you should be spending almost as much time reviewing your play as playing. Take time to find your leaks. Patch them before they cost you more at a higher level.

Hello Clownbaby, I totally agree with you and it's important to focus on the quality of play rather than the volume especially now that I'm grinding such a low level where I can't really get payed for volume of play (rake).
But I also think that in these days you can't really beat anything if you don't play a good amount of hands. My goal is between 40K/50K per month.
I know what you're talking about when you say I should think about my A game as I'm reading "THE MENTAL GAME OF POKER" probably the best mind set book. I'm an Italian living in norway, I post here before going to sleep and it's always nice to find some infos and answers from you guys. Thanks for the support.

I need to find out if I'm playing my pocket pairs (small & mid) 22/99 correctly.
I always try to put myself in position, but still don't know when to flat or 3bet especially in the zoom environment where I can't really track the players habits

Generally when I play normally I try to 3bet players that will have a high fold to 3bet percentage and also give up frequently to continuation bets.
But still I have doubts on when to cold call/3bet/or even fold.
I need to know which set mining strategy would be ideal in this kinda level.
