Is anyone beating micro stakes on merge? I can't believe how tough the games seem to be. I'd like to look a the stats of a winning player and see what's going wrong.

I'm still relatively new to cash games but yeah, the games on Merge are probably not like the micro stakes games of a couple years ago.

I've not had too much luck on there, but am doing decently on Bovada.

After Black Friday, I noticed a flood of new players and stronger competition. (Not surprising) I went through the worst downswing I've ever had a few months ago but I've made the losses back.
Overall, I am a winning player. Not great, but I've won modestly on all sites that I've played. I only single table and usually don't try anything fancy unless against guys that seem like they know what they're doing. E.g. I basically try to see cheap flops with SCs and suited aces from late. I will raise with that range from late too, but only against the solid players. Against the fishes, I wanna see cards cheaply when I have speculative stuff and don't bluff against'em.
I am 21/10 preflop, which I think wouldn't work at more advanced levels, but at 4NL it works.

I was beating it while I had time to play in October and early November. The full ring is easier than the 6max for me. I have only played 5000 hands on that site. I was not winning JCHOOP like win rates, but beating it steadily. If I did not occasionally get froggy on the wrong table with a monster on another one, I would kill it.

The majority of players seemed to be pretty bad. Honestly, I get confused when I hear that micro stakes poker has gotten harder, or that it has evolved in recent years. If anything, it seems like I can read them easier than before.

I play about 17/12 average in full ring and focus on playing individual players rather than focusing on being TAG. I also tend to raise MORE with my best hands if there are alot of loose players behind me since I can get 1 or 2 callers pretty often, and I am ok with just picking up the blinds. I tended to play 3-6 tables (if there are 6 tables of FR going lol); never 6max. I will open limp occasionally, and I do mix up limping AA and KK into this with aggressive players behind me. Open raising 3-3.5bb most of the time and then C betting has been immensely profitable for me. So has raising limpers (with good hands). I have learned that folding early makes me more money than contesting pots vs better hands.

Ill change my player name again and put in a couple thousand hands over the Christmas break if I can, and Ill post the stats. That way they will all be under the same nickname and be coherent. (Finals next week and a full time job, plus 4 kids at home so I have no time to play now.) Hopefully I'll run average or better and be able to actually post something useful that helps you and me.

of course it is beatable. just gotta work harder than the rest of the field. there's a reason why players are stuck at nl4. if you feel u can't beat the games here, just think how hard the games are at small/mid stakes.

cbet when u have it
cbet with value
value bet
dont fall in love with your hands when u get action (dont call reraise with toppair top kicker when u get reraised/checkraised unless u have reads)

fold vs action
bet for value
= you will win

I been playing on merge until RPM closed for over the year.. In the past the.02/.04NL has gotten a lot tougher.. I noticed a lot of multiple gold star peoplethat I never seen before. I think what has happen in the lost of so many players on merge that higher stakes games arent happening and the good players are moving down..

I was beating full ring 2c/4c while playing 6 tables but I have changed to 6max now since their are hardly any fullring games past 4nl and am starting to get the hang of it and their are plenty games even at 50nl at carbon for 6max.

If you want to make easy money playing micros play at Bovada, Imho Bovada seems to have the easiest micro games around. Patience and discipline are key to winning consistently. Do not let suck outs tilt you or you are history. Count your winnings or losses at the end of each week, biweekly or monthly not daily or you will go nuts.

Seraphim, yes you can take notes and tag the player, when i take notes on a player i give that player a fake name and tag him. If not mistaken i believe there are 4 different color tags.

Micros are very beatable. Merge is also very beatable regardless. You should focus on playing tight and value betting, because most players are weak passive.
