Hello community.. I need to know your point of views about bankroll management for cash games...

i am deciding about 5$ NLHE cash games ,while my bankroll is 100€ (which is around 130$ ) ..

The point is that i should play 2$ NLHE coz my bankroll is too low for 5$ , BUT i have thought about stop-loss higher limits like :

going to higher limits - few 5$ tables and one 10$ with stop-loss down to 100$ ..

What do you think about this stop-loss improvement ? Would it work in long-term when i am on edge of 2 limits? For example Dusty Schmidt had very strict bankroll management , which means he didnt make any stop-loss higher limits , he just played untill he reached another limits..

By going to higher limits i am putting those money above 100$ to variance destiny , but if they arent needed anymore to 2$NLHE (100$ is 50BI of 100bb) , maybe it is good to risk to get money much faster (or lose, depends).

Thank you for your opinion!

This is what I do, I'm copy and pasting my answer from another thread...

If you always keep 50+ buy-ins for the previous level and are strict about moving down you can't go wrong imo.

So, play 2nl with < $100
play 5nl with $100-$250
play 10nl with $250-$500
play 25nl with $500-$1250 etc etc

if you just play for fun, then make your bank roll >30 buy in.

If you are really interested in poker and are actively learning very hard, then move up when bank roll >13 buy in

what? dude you should not be playing with 13 buy ins for what you are playing, that's bankroll management suicide even 30 is ridiculous other than on selective times

Id suggest that you take riskier shot takes when the higher stakes game is just sooo fishy that its worth the risk. So basically, there would be a threshold to where that would be the only circumstance that you play higher stakes tables. The next threshold might be that youd play any table at higher limits that were "pretty good", and then from there youd just evaluate all stakes within your roll and pick out good tables without regard for the stakes. Thats just my 2 cents.

If you actually want to make money playing poker then I suggest you play higher stakes or high buy in tourneys/ multiple player low buy in tourneys if you want to play safe. If I was in your position I would play a high stake cash game and try and get a bigger bankroll then you can freeroll with your profits to see what happens

You should check out Gripsed free poker training, he got his own youtube channel and facebook. Tons of useful information particularly talking about improving on your game and taking shots. He has a style I tried where if you table select wisely and aggressive, you cant take advantage of the fish when you move up by playing a conservative TAG style. It really works. I did it and moved up from 5nl to 25nl in a month. Don't know if that's fast but very effective.

Hey Stretch thanks for the info. Did you do this 5-25 by doing the shots at 20 buy-ins? How much volume were you putting in? With my work schedule I can maybe get in 10,000 hands a month. Also what stop loss did you use at the higher game or did you have a good run you did not drop back down?
