You are right about the first one, why bother. You wasted alot of money on a flop that you thought was gold and turned out crap. I have been reviewing sessions and seeing that the hands I should not have even been in are the most costly and rarely pan out.

The second one.... I think you should have just done a standard raise of 3BB+1BB per limper (160x4= 640). This is a smaller amount of your chips and will accomplish the same thing. That raise would allow you to bet around 700 after the flop to see if you could get him to fold. You opponent was shortstacked and would have to fold or go all-in to any bet after the flop. That is what you are wanting anyways so why put him all-in when you did not hit. He calls the smaller raise and you could check/fold and still have 3k left which is over 10 BB and not make yourself shortstacked yet. You did not leave yourself any wiggle room in this hand.

This is a good example of realizing what your preflop bet amount can do to your post flop play. Your slightly oversized preflop raise just got you in trouble after the flop. Smaller bets here pre and post flop would have accomplished the same thing in the end with less risk.

As far as you opponent. I know it was a donkey hand that called the preflop raise, but he has open ended striaght draw, flush draw and one over. He has 18 outs against you. What a miracle flop, he has a 60% chance to improve in the next 2 cards.

First Hand Was Just Sick Dude, Never Get Used To Them :/ The Second Hand, Man Wat A Donkey, Did He Play Like That All Tourny? If So A Dont Really Like The Play After The Flop, You May Want To Be A Little Tighter Against Such Unpredictable, Well, Donkeys

Why He's A Donkey

You Really Need More Information To Judge But If He Is Consistently Making Those Plays And Chasing His Draws Then He's Not Making Profitable Plays. Also Calling A Preflop Raise With J4S Shows The Amatuer Play Of Being Unwilling To Fold Any Two Suited Cards. It's More These Factors Than The One Of Call After The Flop With The Draws Which Make Him A Donkey. Although I Agree That It Was Quite A Poor Play To Bet With The AK After Missing.

He had alot of outs - but I agree with Titans... why bet nearly half your stack at this pot?
