I follow a strict schedule for Poker....study for one hour, play for two hours.

I had a good day earlier. I ran up a 25NL buy in too about 125.00$ It took me all day but I did it. At the end of the day my balance was 269.00$ on Bovada.

Now here is where things just go south. I am up late at night watching TV nothing to do. So i figure hey what the hell. Might as well hop on Bovada and make more money.

I do not study, I do not hand review and I go completely off track and just hop on a zoom table.

So here I am now, after putting in 6 hours earlier to grind that stupid 25 $ into 100$ in profit. Well it is all gone. My mind set usually at this point in the day is "just get your money in good" Wait for strong hands. etc.

Well i just lost all of my money and suddenly after 30-40 minutes have gone by I'm down the 100 that I won and I didn't even realize that I was on tilt the entire 30 minutes.....(all in first hand with top-two pair against a set)

I have a constant problem with doing this............I know that poker takes preparation each and every time at least that is what helps me. I run it up then run it right back down because of lack of discipline.

I honestly feel like quitting Poker this shit is just too stupid. I can't see how any human being makes a living doing this it is just pointless. No progress what soever.

First of all Aaron Soto, breaking your computer will not do anything but cost you more money. I can't tell you how many times I have played some long hours and win real good. Then I lay down, wanting to sleep 24 hours, but I just could not get the game out of my mind, so I get up and play tired. The results were the same as yours. The tilt was the same as yours. And I lost many BRs because of it. I went through all that for 10 years. However, 3 or 4 years ago I started to get serious about my game, and got real active here at CC. The first thing I had to work on was my tilt problem. The fact is that I would still be losing BRs if I had not put my tilt in check. How I done that was to post many questions and get advice from other players who had a tilt problem to start with. They showed me that if they could beat their problems, I could too. And Aaron you can too. You said you study 1 hour a day. Here is what I've been doing. From the time get up till 12 or 1pm, I'm on here reading post, replying to them, and using the advice I find to help my game too. If you want to better your game, you are going to have to put in the time. Sorry this is so long. Anyway GL to you

You need to realise what triggers you. For me personally, my trigger is heat. Whenever I overheat, I tilt. If it's a hot day (30+ degrees Celsius), I'm more likely to go on tilt. If I play in a casino with a hoody on and let myself get too hot, I go on tilt.

Ever since I've gone out of my way to ensure that I never get too hot when playing poker (keeping a fan or air-conditioner on when playing online, avoiding playing on hot days and coming to a casino in a t-shirt and no jumper), I've found that I almost never tilt.

Find out what your tilt trigger is and think up a way you can avoid what triggers you. Good luck!

I do not see the problems in the climate (heat, cold, etc ...), but in control of everything you do in life.
For everything there is a limit. Even for leisure.
Your body and mind need to take your time to re-energize and start the next day.
I've also lost a lot of trying to play many a day staying up late the day.
You first need to rest and create a favorable environment to not be distracted.
Try to have a good computer, air-conditioned environment, without cell phone interference, television, etc ...

--------------

He just is messing with you.

Dont play when you are tired. I think you know that. Tired tilt is the worse, becuase you forget it so easily and learn nothing.

Aaron Soto how have things been going the past few days? I don't know if you read or not, but I do everyday, and it really gets everything off my mind, and I can relax. Poker is a stressful game, so you have to either find something to help you relax, or to do something to burn it off. How many hours are you playing right now? When I started I played every minute I could. About 14 hours a day. And it wasn't long before I was selling everything just to keep playing. I'm glad those days are over with. GL to you

We have a large number of members who are non-English speaking, many use translators to help them communicate. You on the other hand are an English speaking member with problems. You don't like the response, don't agree with the response or can't understand the response, ignore it. If you see some value in the response, think about applying it to your poker game. If you can't even be civil, piss off.

Tilting at poker is one thing, no need to tilt when somebody tries to offer advice and you dont agree especially as already mentioned not their native language.

What else is gonna tilt you grammar and spelling mistakes next

I think *everything* tilts him. He's on perma-tilt.

He's like Phil Hellmuth taken up to eleven.
Minus the poker skillz, natch.

I have tilting issues that I'm working on. Whenever I feel like someone is 'bullying' me, or targeting me with preflop raises to steal my blinds specifically, it burns me up! >:O I can feel my whole head getting hot. It's something I will have to overcome before trying to pay live, because when I get like that I'm likely to physically attack someone, not for beating me at poker, but for bullying me. I'll grab my glass and chunk it right at their stupid face.

johnnygadget I was told right here that tilt has no place in poker. After about a year, I had it mostly under control, but I had it so bad I have to work on it every day, because I don't want to go backwards. For the past 2 years I have done pretty good with my game. I really have to thank CC members for that.

been their done that! My first year of playing online I put my fist through the screen that ended my misery for a while. Then a few months later I bought a new laptop and ran great for a long time. Now day's 10 years later I just scream out profanity's so loud I'm worried my neighbors hear me, but its an improvement and continuous improvement is what I'm seeking.

Learn to be tolerant - then post in poker forums.

He is from the Ukraine and English is not his first language - I think he did an amazing job of posting that entire paragraph in English and only had 2 very, very minor errors in it. Don't nitpick and be rude to someone who makes an effort to get involved despite the fact that they are having to post in a totally foreign language - that is just not cool at all.
