Anyone with a big bankroll, did you build it through cash games mostly?

I'm usually a sng and MTT player, but now I'm thinking of playing cash games for the bulk majority of the times and dabbles in SNGs here and there and take a MTT shot once in a while.

Anyone who actually implemented this strategy or something similar and amassed a huge fortune?

If so, please give me cliff notes on your journey from a beginner to get to that point.

I played a lot of tourneys when I was first starting out.. then switched to cash tables ~5yrs. ago & have played a couple million hands on them now.
But honestly I didn't really get a big boost to my bankroll until my mother died & left me a good chunk. She loved poker and wanted me to use part of it at wsop. So... I'm doing that now.

What makes you think you should switch?

Key to success in poker is playing good over a big sample so you can develop an edge over you're opponents.

In my opinoin Cashgames are good to learn the game, especially to get better postflop. And while cash is toughter than SnG it's not as time-consuming and lower variance. That being said, if you have the time to grind tourneys all day plus study them they will give you the most value, as there is more recreationals there. And TbH living from both is possible and realistic if you put in the work. But I wouldn't suggest grinding 1 game and donking away you're winnings in the other. Become good at one thing first.

Both help your br if you are a winning player.

in online poker, there are many strategies and choices that everyone likes different, but in fact the prospects are only you MTT

My advice to you is if you build big bankroll whatever you planned to make if make it, than go for tourney instead as tourney is best for anyone who wants to grow as a poker player and have a hefty good earning wise.

I think I'm going to play both, but def will play more sngs + MTT than cash based on all the responses. Seems everyone is in agreement that as long as you play good, you can always pull anything off.
