Hello, I keep bubbling, and was hoping someone here had a tip for me.
I play $5 3 tables. I bubble almost every time. I start out with a good stack. Get to final table with about 4k. When i start to get really low, i do the Push fold strategy and hope for someone to fold, and they almost always do. When i get about 8k, i'll be above bubble position. But i seem to get reckless. i think thats my problem. When im on bubble should I just take it easy, and hope for someone to get out?

I think if you're main focus is ITM, your play around the bubble should be somewhat cautious. If you're continually going out on the bubble, could you try a more aggressive approach during the middle stage, building a larger stack for the bubble time?

You should slow down a bit. Let the other players bust each other out.

I tend to drop my aggression levels a lot when there are 4 left unless there are big stealing opportunities. When it gets down to the final 3 its time to get super-, if not hyperaggressive

followed your guys advice. Was down to my last $2 cuz i keep bubbling lol. Went into a $1 3 table, and won it. Took it easy at final table. When a stealing opportunity came, i took it. 5 players left, I was in the money. Kept taking it easy. 3 players left. Went super aggressive and won that beast lol

Believe me, I know what it's like.

These 3-table $5 games get really tight near the bubble. But, the problem is, even though no one wants to play a pot, there's is always some wacko who is willing to call an all-in with J9o. If you're worried about bubbling, then you don't have enough chips to get cute, so there's not much you can do but wait for a hand and shove.

The funny thing is, a lowball-bet is probably more likely to steal the blinds than a push on some of these tables. There's a lot of players out there with a perverse mentality when it comes to calling. In fact, I've got to do some research, but I'm convinced that an UTG min-bet will steal the blinds more often than a UTG 3xBB bet. At least at the low stakes on poker stars.

I would recommend finishing at least 1 spot higher. ;)

I have the same problem in freerolls and the only good advice I've seen so far is to finish one spot higher. I've found you need to be semi-aggresive when players are sitting on stacks and try to stay a few blinds ahead. In 27 seaters I've found that you need to see as many cheap (BB or 2x) flops as you can with marginal hands. If you do not build up enough chips by the final table (10X BB) you are just hoping for someone to get impatient and 5th is the best you can do.

ive been playing a lot of sngs lately and the best advice i can give you as long as you arent short stacked is dont tangle with the big stacks on the bubble...you can loosen back up after you are itm....oh and welcome fellow hoosier...one of my best buds lives in greenfield
