I'd like to chat it up with someone doing what I am doing on a more regular basis. I'm pretty casual player as of late given little motivation, playing bout an hour or two a night. 5nl has been a breakeven adventure thus far for me. Players are super nits compared to $2nl so it's been an adjustment :) anywho If you want to chat abit lemme know.

I have been playing 5nl for a little while. Over 15000 hands running at a 6bb/100. Hopefully I can move up to 10 soon. I play about an hour or so a day. What do you play six max or full ring? I play 6 max.

hey charchar.
I play full ring. Trying to put in a good 50k sample at 5nl but its pretty brutal. Next to no action when I have it. People have found the fold button. Quite the difference from 2nl imo, I have about 90k hands at 2nl.

I imagine 6max is abit more exciting. I don't particularly have much of a clue when it comes to 6max. Not that I have one at Fullring either, haha.

Going to put it out there that it's hard to sit at these pokerstars 5nl tables with 8/8/4 's all around me with the occasional, 15/10. I'll say out loud, "Why am I sitting here with these guys?" Not what I am used to from full tilt 2nl tables.

Ultimately I don't know how to play against this bore bash.

There must a difference between full ring and 6max. There is plenty of 30/20 and 40/20 when I play. Do you use table selection?

My first deposit at Full Flush was $50, and I started at 2nl and moved up to 5nl when I had $75 and up to 10nl when I had $100. Each level was like another world, and sometimes I would go back down, but now I'm at 10nl all the time, because I have the BR to do so, at least on two sites. The other 2 I don't even play cash game just low buy in MTT. The best advice I can give you is to take your time and learn.

I've decided to give poker a serious go again and just loaded some cash on Bovada. Can't really use a HUD there (and also haven't gotten a current version of PT or HEM yet) but the 5nl seems to be very loose/aggro. I pretty clearly need to tighten up a touch and be less spew-y myself, but the games seem eminently beatable.

This is the exact opposite of what 5nl full ring is on Pokerstars.

Yeah I have begun table selecting more aggressively. But all the tables are full of tight players. its just blah. hard to be motivated to play./

I usually loosen up a ton playing against tables like that. Stealing blinds liberally, flatting them with suited connectors and small pockets (assuming you're comfortable playing these postflop), etc. I agree it's not too exciting and is probably a good idea to find fishier tables, but I don't think they are too difficult to play against. Just have to make sure to pay attention and see if they adjust or not.

That's good to hear. I plan to split a small bankroll between Bovada and WPN and hopefully run that up. I used to play semi-regularly on Merge a while ago up to 10NL with enough of a roll to take shots at 25NL, but reading about 3 month+ withdraw times is a big turn off. Those other two sound like the best choice in US facing networks that pay out in a reasonable time frame.

I should mention I'm sitting at 6max tables. Haven't gone to full ring tables.

ghOst are you talking about a private game at FF, or BOL? If so, I been talking about that here lately. Let me know what you are talking about

I have found that 5nl still has a lot of weak tight play. You get standard 3BB opening raises, and very little 3 betting. You still have a lot of post flop folds to any indication of strength and overbetting postflop can be generally rewarded.

Over betting has worked for me with nut hands. Shoved a straight flush the other day and got called by a q high flush.
Raises usually mean the nuts at this level too. Value value value bet until they raise they have it. What site do you play on? I play on ACR.

Full tilt was my 2nl site. Maybe 3 to 6 $5nl tables running on there IF I am lucky. So I switched to Pokerstars. I have decided to drop down to $2nl again and grind, get confidence, and take another shot at $5nl. My mindset has been pretty bad as of late. In turn, not playing optimally.

I am way more comfortable at $2nl and am hoping my mental game improves abit. Bankroll still supports $5nl but my mind doesn't :)

I find it so strange that you think that the 5nl is nitty on stars. It must be the difference between 6max and full ring. If I open 4 tables that I have selected with a players in pot of over 18% I can take a screen shot at any moment and there will be at least a couple with a VPIP over 40 and very few under 15.

Im not saying that they are easy to play against, Im currently loosing, but they are there. Change to 6max

yeah I have yet to hear anyone say different about 6max. Forgive my over generalization; but on this forum those whom posts seems to play 6max, and have the attitude of its "printing money legally."

Currently my morale is pretty low. I keep giving back my profits at full ring anyway. Mental game probably couldn't handle switching to 6max without any real guidance.

From July 11th till today I have 27k hands on Pokerstars for $2nl fr, along the line I had decided to start 24 tabling in order to "cast a bigger net" and find tables with vpip 40s players.
over that sample I have a wooping 1.66/100 rate. It was just fun to try 24 tabling honestly, but it really isn't working. Nothing is actually, haha.

On pokerstars I am just in the red allllllll the way across the board.
I like to just flip over on pokertracker4 to Fulltilt stats and look at my nice, green, pretty 5bb/100 winrate over 76khands 2nl fullring. :)
