Hi all,
I have recently started playing poker again and have joined unibet due to the no deposit bonus they have going. As a part of the no deposit scheme, you have a cash ticket which allows you to play 4NL until you've seen 750 flops. I have been winning bits and bobs here and there and determined to not lose a buy-in (my mentality could be contributing to my problem which I will get to). I see alot of calling stations at these tables who will never raise on the flop but will check/call to show down which I do not mind getting to if I feel I have the best hand.
Last night, there was one guy on the table, who I could not get a read on, simply because any hand they was involved in never went to show down. One hand in particular went similar to this:
Me 100BB
Villain 300BB
I was deal AKx and I raise pre-flop to 3x BB, villain calls me. Flop comes out 238 rainbow, and the villain bets 3/4 pot. At this point, I have a strong hand but the players on these tables will hit a pair on the flop, whether its bottom, middle or top pair, and just call/check all the way down. If he has hit a pair, even with such a strong starting hand, I will always be chasing him.
This happened at least three or four times, with very similar hands where I would be ahead pre-flop but just not hit any cards on the flop and I feel, based on the villains betting pattern, I was made to feel behind all the time.
I hope this all makes sense, just irked me last night and wondered if anyone had any ideas.
