Hey here are the stats from a tournament I played in. Would anyone like to analyze my stats. I'm posting this after 2 hours of play.

i have no idea what to make of stats
could someone post (along w/ their analysis of sammy's play) the numbers for tight/normal/loose and whatever? also 10-handed and shorthanded?
like (just a guess) flops seen: 10% and under - tight
25% - average
40% and over - loose
or something like that
thanks
(sorry to interrupt your post sammy :) )

Fold 86% Pre-Flop = Way too tight. I know because I have this problem myself. Sometimes I get up around 75% and that's still too tight. I've heard it should be around 60-66%.

I know sometimes you feel like you just aren't getting cards and can't play, but does that mean everyone else always has the nuts? No. I'm not saying to just bluff willy-nilly. What I try to do is show the table when I do get that good hand. Then, when in position, throw out a bluff or 2 to keep my image strong. Fold too much and your opponents will raise you often as they sense your apprehension. If you think you ARE getting raised too much, it is time to switch tables because your image is probably already blown. This works for me, also.

Good luck! I still haven't completely cured my problem, either.

Impossible to read anything into a sample size of 130.

Then he turns around and wins a tourney with a $1050 prize (BTW, way to go, Sam).

We should be asking YOU for advice, Sammy. When's your next book coming out?

lol This is the tourney that I won. I was on the second break when I posted this and the blinds were killing me. Thats why I posted it cause I was getting torn up with the blinds. I never thought I would come back and win it though.

You don't seem to raise too much. Either you slowplay good hands or the good hands aren't coming. The stats tell me that you are a tight player and probably need to be more aggressive. I don't know how well you did in the 2 hours you played. If you did well, then this style of play works well for you. But remember, it's not going to work constantly. If you didn't do well, play more aggressively.

What Dorkus said; analyzing tournament stats quickly becomes difficult given that there are so many different situations (early/middle/late stages, and then the final table that quickly becomes shorthanded).

think about it.....

sample size a little small......
but bacic........
Look at fold sats first.......
86 % pre flop....... WAY WAY to tight.....you want to be looking at 25% to 30% includeing the very first 2 levels when if you can get in cheep do so with a reasonable hand
Strange that you never went to 4th street with any hand .... it was fold 5% after flop .... or no fold 8%.......some hands even though your not ahead yet are worth seeing one more card....to get ahead
Now on win stats.......
40% of your wins are preflop.......
but only ...20% at showdown............
that last number to me indicates that your not getting the most out of your good hands ...... you may be over betting and scareing people away .... u need to look at that ..... you may need to look at sucking more players in with a good hand
Finaly look at actions ......... You dont have any check raise..... bad play ..... check raise should be at least 5 % .... also look at you raise stats ......raise 4% reraise 0% ....... you need to be a bit more aggresive.... you looking very pasive with no check reraise and not much chance of a raise.......
Last 2 comments..... sample to small but worth taking a screan shot as you get to the final table ..... rem .... when you get to heads up .......stats go to pot........
Try downloading poker tracker..... they do a trail version....... it will collect all your hands......
