Hi all, new to the forum and relitavely new to the game.
Just wondering, I play on small bet Texas hold’em and am wondering do players take any notice of the “strength meter” in your games?
Is it worth playing by gut instinct instead?
I think because I’m new I could be not trusting myself enough and relying too much on the technology side of the game
Thanks
From those two choices, technology or intuition, I would choose intuition if I had to choose only one. But things are not that black and white. I don't use HUD myself but I am planning to take that into my game 'cause that would really give important information about my rivals. However, technology is missing the human factor and it cannot detect subtle hints that there is something weird or different than usual about how my opponent plays that hand; time of thinking, bet sizing etc. for example. That's when your intuition comes handy.
It also depends where you play your games. It's easy to rely on technical stuff when playing online but if you do that too much, you might be in trouble when you enter live tables because there you only have your intuition with you.
Intuition is something you learn through hours and hours of playing when you have confronted all kinds of situations multiple times. Your subconscious kind of takes notes without you even knowing. It's really interesting that intuition is actually correct quite often, you just need to learn to trust it.
As a final answer to your question though, I would say that intuition is definitely better but technology might still give you really helpful push to win and steal more pots when playing online. The best thing would be just to find a nice balance between those two options.
