Im playing in a .50 $1.00 cash game. Average stack around 80-100 dollars. I open UTG to $6 with AK, Its folded around to a very agrressive player on the button who min rasies to $12. I re-raise to $30 and he puts me all in for about another $30 more. What would you do in this situation not knowing what he has?
Also i must mention this guy is known for his wild agrresion. opens and raises every pot. Usually busts by the end of the night.

Call. You've got 1/2 his effective stack in already, folding now to ANYONE would be really bad. To this guy it would be criminal.

u already reraised him and too much money in the pot. PLUS, you got AK....you really shouldn't be thinking of folding.

Your pot odds are way to good to be folding to anyone with AK. The fact that he's ultra agg makes it an even easier call.

Yea i ended up calling and was up against qq. Honestly i wanted to end the hand pre especially against such a wild player.
Also is there ever a time when you wouldnt call? like depending on stack sizes and money invested in the hand?

You definitely have to call in this position, worst that can happen is its a race, which as you said is what it ended up being. Hope you won the hand :O. I dream of such hands when playing against aggro players.

Then again, your screen name says different haha.

LOL yea man i lost. He is so agrresive i really felt i was up against a weaker ace or smaller pocket pair. the reason i 4 bet was because i know his play style and him being on the button made it even easier. In hindsight it seems calling pre would have been better instead of raising him.

well if he's so aggressive he's gonna have wider than QQ, you just happened to come across the near top of his range.. 4 bets pretty easy in that spot I reckon, calling to brick the flop and having to play guessing games OOP with A high isnt the best scenario, nh

Very easy to call. Not much at all.

Button's min raise is pretty bad against UTG.raise. He needs to make a bigger raise. His min raise invites any Ax Kx to just call him and see if they can hit a A or K on flop.

This explains just how clear a call this is; If your opponent shows you KK here after he goes all-in, you should still call.

yea the min raise confused me somewhat. That to me looks like a smaller ace or a small pair. it seems just calling the min raise pre flop and seeing the flop(which i missed) would be better becuase i can easily fold once i brick off OOP

I think with deeper stacks and a 5 bet from him on the button after i 4bet would get me out pre flop. Especially since i am OOP and most likely agianst a better hand.

No it wasn't a bluff, but obvioulsy i want him to fold pre. I thought my hand has most of his range crushed especially from the button. With Ak though i didnt really mind a call because either im beat by AA KK or in a race with QQ. Also i put him on a weaker ace or smaller pair so i really thought i was ahead whole time.

So then why didn't you want a call? You hate money?

I didn't mind a call, but i also wouldnt mind taking down the pot without seeing a flop that i'll most likely miss. I hate money about as much as you do.

There's no way you're ever going to brick off OOP w/ AK when you already assume AA & KK is already out of his range and put him on a weaker ace. You made the correct play but got unfortunate. Nice hand though.. sorry for your luck.
