Unfortunately this isn't one of those questions that is cut and dry.. It's like saying "The sky is real cloudy, it's probably going to rain"..It probably is, but it might not..As in this question sometimes it's correct to call an all-in with Ace King, sometimes it's not..It's all about the chip stacks involved, the style of play of your opponents AND the math involved..Sometimes calling an all-in with Ace King may be mathematically correct however it is potentially not worth the risk..Say for instance the two tightest players at the table are in involved in a hand as are you...Tight player 1 raises 6XBB and Tight player two re-raises all in for 12-15xBB..I would throw away my Ace King in a heartbeat even though I may be getting a good price on my money..

it is correct to call when you think you are ahead. Factors like the chipstacks or remaining players etc. do effect the way you should act, but I would put it more on the read of the player.

Yep, definitely an "It depends" answer. Depends on your table reads, relative chip stacks, etc., etc. The only time you really rely on "the math" in that situation is when they are the short stack and you want the risk to be worth the call.

As with most things poker-realted, one subject can have several answers.

Firstly position, then cost of calling,
Is it worth it,
Can you afford to lose your the amount your calling ?
Is your oppo short-stacked (therefore maybe desparate),
How loose has your oppo been playing? (maybe bluffing to pick up the blinds)
how early in the tourney is it? (you dont want to bust out too soon),
has the dealer tipped you the wink, lol ;)
Does it feel right?

Also remember AK may called 'Big Slick' but even a pair of 2's can beat you if you miss the board.

So once you have the right kind of answers covered, then you have to face the cards themselves :eek::eek:

Sometimes it will work, othertimes you will walk :D
