Hello, just wondering if I could get some feedback on the move I just made. I had :ac4::kc4: as the BB. this is in a 18 person $2 + .25 18 person SnG and there are currently 5 people left, so next one out bubbles. UTG loose agressive small stack goes all in for 3/4 my stack. Everyone Folds up to the sb and big stack who calls. sb is kind of an odd player, as big stack will bully but not many people called him so not really sure what cards he might be holding. I look and there is over 5500 chips in the pot and it would leave me with about 350 if I flat called, so I decided to Time, wait it out, and then I went ALL-In. sb, of course, called. They flipped and UTG had a 66 while sb had 88. Unfortunatley, UTG hit his six as I hiit a K on the flop, and then I was turned an 8, but what you gonna do, still scraped 4th on the double KO by the big stack... I still feel like I made the right raise here. I'll take any advice/criticism you guys can throw at me.

I would of stayed out of that hand

yep, me too.

Against one player you might flip it, but the bigstacks call is very dangerous here I think. He can even hold Aces, trying to get you into the pot as well and knock two ppl out.

Just fold and cash imo.

You should also post correct stacksizes and so on, when posting a hand. Its easier for everyone to figure out what the situation was. There are tons of handconverters etc. out in the web ;) Blindsize would matter, too in this situation I think.

You should have stayed out. It would have been different if it was just you calling, for a heads-up, but it wasn't. Since the chip leader was already in why call and give him your chips. You should have waited till you were in the money.

I would have stayed out in this situation. Okay you stood to probably beome chip leader if you had hit but the chances are the sb was going to take UTG out. I would have kept my chips and saved them for getting myself further up the cash ladder.

Ya, I see where you all are coming from, but from the way the UTG player has been playing I figured I would have him beat and, even if I didn't and lost to big stack I would still come in 4th as I lost with more chips then UTG. However, I probably should have been a bit more patient. Got card dry since a double K.O. early with AA turning into a full house, hadn't had two broadways in my hand since and was bored after an hour of lame cards. Guess I shoulda listened to reason and not gambled my chips away...

AK suited

That late in the tournament I probably would have pushed allin before the flop. If someone calls great! If everybody folds great! You'll most likely take down the pot either way.

This is a very very tough spot for you. If you're playing to win the tourney, you must call there. You're easily ahead of both players ranges considering their moves. Just unlucky they hit sets.

With ur stack and how many people wher left at the table i would have let that hand go and waited for a beter opportunity.Ak suited is a hard hand to lay down cause it can and will win u some big pots but it will loose just as many.

You played well, but the probability is part of poker.
You had great chances to win but lost.
In the next time, try to make a raise pre-flop. If you lose, you don’t lose all your chips and if you win, you can earn a big pot.

AK is over-rated. I have taken so many chips from players when they play that hand and the other ones such as AQ, AJ, and A10. You tend to overplay this hand and then any pair has a great chance of beating you. I would have folded for sure. Patience is hard to learn. But greatly needed. Good luck next time.

I'm gonna agree with the field in saying lay it down. AK isn't a made hand unless you spike a card, with 2 all in behind you, someone definitely has a pair, and you have to hope someone else doesn't have outs of yours.

Fold

There was no reason to call here. One of them was going to be eliminated or crippled chip wise.No reason to put your money in unless you hold AA,KK.I would have folded and went into the money looking to win.

Folding here would be the correct move. The SB smooth called, which was a strong signal of strength. You shoulda realized that before moving in and putting your tournament placement in jeopardy. Remember, cashing in the objective then going in fore the kill is secondary after locking in top finishes.

Here's the thing: If you know him to be solid and tight, wouldn't you assume he had at least JJ, and possibly QQ-AA under the gun? I would have folded to that first bet--ONLY against a solid, tight player UTG. Any other type player or any other position I would have played it the same way you did.

Think about it this way: If Dan Harrington raises UTG at a full table, mid-tourney, would you call? I would lay it down in a heartbeat. I would assume I was at best 50/50 (if he had AK).
