I have read PokerTournament formular by Arnold Snyder.
I think the stratagy that he outlines isn't the best, so I wouldnt reconmend people read it as a how to play poker book.
However his analysis of tournament structure is excellent. Its done in great detail, and is not a topic which is often written about.
His super agressive style isnt that great.. but as he points out, the blinds are going up so fast that you are forced to play extremely agressive to even have a chance of making the final table.
What I really liked about the book was how he analizes tournament structures, and how you can look for tournaments which do not require this super agressive style of play. Although these do tend to be bigger tournaments than most of us play.
After reading it, I made the decision to vear away from tournaments entirely, and to concentrate on cash games which are more dependent on skill, as the blinds do not rise.
I hope to, in the future, return to tournaments, but only when my bankroll allows me to enter tournaments of around $100+
So yes I would reconmend that anyone who plays tournaments reads this book, but you may find yourself opting to stop playing small stakes tournaments entirely as a result!!!
