Just wondering what's a good idea for what to do after a losing session. I had one of those nights where I had a lot of real good second best hands, or got out drawn. I went through and reviewed some hands, and except a select few mostly played them all fine.

Whats a good % of winning sessions, and how do you keep your confidence up after a down swing?

Taking a break for a day or two is always helpful for me. It kind of refreshes you in a way. Getting out and getting some excersize is helpful to your mental state and stamina. Reading, listening to music or relaxation is always good

Write a vent in the appropriate session and then get hammered. Next day come back and make some money. Atleast that's what I did :D

In my latest PT database I have played ~7500 hands, 175 sessions with a winning session % of 57.14%. I am running at 14BB/100 so this is during a pretty hot 7500 hands.

As for keeping your confidence up, if you know that you've been playing well I don't think that there is any reason for you to doubt yourself. Just take a break if you feel yourself fuming a little and get back to it whenever you are ready. Things will turn around eventually.

Drink a beer or two and watch some High Stakes Poker, go to bed and sleep it off, workout in the morning, read some HOH, then back to the battle.
If you don't want to do all that, then just drink the beers. It's all good!

I agree with the exercise suggestions. Either something to get your blood pumping, like running, or something to focus you on the bigger picture, like yoga.

Can't say I've done any yoga, but running is really good. Just do something to burn off energy. I'll go out and ride my bike, run, or throw a baseball if it's warm outside and if it's cold maybe go down and lift weights, and of course if you don't feel like doing something where you use energy a good game of Madden's always good.

madden's pretty dope. i hit the weights everyday, regardless, but it definately improves my mood. setting a weight room goal is the best. nothin will make you forget about poker more than hittin 300 on the bench for the first time, or whatever goal you have. at night time, i'll have some beers and some chronic and forget all about those bad beats.
