lately ive been winning quite a few from .01/0.02 tables by playing some similar as so called smallball and seems to be working well but im still thinking that my play isnt very well yet and still needs improvement and i might as well be lucky since those people in the table are often tight players which is why i believe small ball worked well...

So im looking for some good advices on smallball to improve my play or any other strats to diversify my play ?

In my experience at the micro levels, there is no such thing as small ball poker unless you're playing a trny. The whole basis of small ball is to see alot of flops, mostly from late pos. ( which at micro levels is easy to do because the players either over raise their premiums, or limp with rags wich allows you to see alot of flops.

Now, if you can pick off players that are bluffing at you or will call you down with nothing, ( which still happens ALOT) that, IMO is the real secret to becoming a good small ball player. The problem is at the micro levels, I don't believe SB poker can exist. For the simple fact that the play sucks that bad and hardly anyone can tell what your doing to begin with.

SB is about yes playing a lot of flops and outplaying opponants postflop. So i disagree small ball is ideal for micro stakes.

you are contradicting yourself, you say it cant exist, but then you say its easy to see a lot of flops which is the idea behind small ball, seeing lots of flops and outplaying opponants postflop..

small ball is about, yes raising a lot of pots, but the raise sizing is differant, you can get away with 2x or 2.5x the bb in micros, they will call you no matter waht your raising. this forces the blinds to make calls they might not also, making them play out of position.

by playing this game your counting on making sound decisions postflop and making less mistakes than your opponants. by playing out of position carefully, and by playing marginal situations carefully, all the time waiting to flop big and score the knockout punch.

So i dont believe it matters if they know what your doing or not, you should show a profit if your postflop skills are good.

i agree with wizzim and i think smallball is easier to use at micro tables because ive been able to win pots without risking much of my chips so i think it would be harder as the stake go higher since i would be more worried about my chips if the stakes are higher...

But at times when im playing these micro tables sometimes i start to win too many hands and im scared that it becomes too ovious so i dont know how i should diversify my play a bit sometimes ? because i dont always want to be raising with nothing and im starting to realize there are some situation when the raises would work better and some others that would just put u in trouble...

trying to find ways to improve my play but i find it quite easy to extract money from people using smallball at these low tables i wonder if im lucky or its jsut the way it is

Here's a few stats that might interest you about this kind of play at Micro Fullt Tilt .02/.05 NL 6 Max tables over the last year and a half. Notice the included players have at least 5000 hands to poll info from.

The entire list is found here:
