i dont really have any idea what games or limits i should be playing. if anyone wants to look at my ratings look em up and feel free to offer suggestions. ive got $166 on pokertime (microgaming) and $142 on absolute, and $58 on pokerstars.

for years i played 1-5 stud at casinos and won about $25-50 a day. nowdays since that games died out i mostly play 1-2 NL and usually buyin for the minimum, and if i lose that rebuy in for a standard amount, and if i lose that one final rebuy for the MAXIMUM. but i live a long ways from any casinos, so ive been playing online quite a bit. my first time ever seeing this thread on 2+2 and posting in it.

id like some advice. ur welcome to find me on aim yahoo or stars and come talk. i need to make up my mind what games and limits i should be playing and i also need a little variety.

i know most people think the key to winning poker online is to play 6-10 tables at once, but i usually play 1 and aint more comfortable than to play 3 at once. without having time to watch the action, i feel id make alot of mistakes.

1. should i play the $5 or $10 or $25 sngs on cake where 5 outta 10 people get double their buyin (minus the rake) and the other 5 get nothing? that structure kind of interesting.
2. ive found by far the easiest to win is the 210fpp pts satellite into the $11 sun tourney, but im outta pts so that ideas out.
3. what about the $2.50 draw where 3 outta 5 get paid on microgaming? only problem is u dont win much, and 3rd loses the rake. wish they had them higher limits.
4. stick to NL hilo omaha? (my best cash game i think) or what about stud hilo? thats where most of my sngs i win are in. play what limit? im thinking $25 max buyin NL? but id only wanna buyin for $5-10. and do maybe 2-3 tables at once.
5. also ive got over $200 in uncleared bonuses on absolute, and the 25c-50c stud hilo game there is easy to win it, and clears bonuses quick. but its a little boring, cause isnt it not a good idea to multitable stud hilo?--because u miss seeing folded cards.

please PM me or reply back in this thread with suggestions. P.S. if i lose this, i'm able to replace the bankroll, have close to $2000 in the bank. thought that might be helpful info in deciding what limits for me to play. if i play too small i cant play well.

BR Mng.?

Sounds to me like you might need a little lesson on bank roll managment. Why not try going to FT and look up Chris Fergusons article on BR mng. He's brilliant when it comes to anything mathamatical!

As the other guy said, you do need some help managing your BR. Look at this, I think It will Help:

He never buys into a cash game or a Sit & Go with more than 5 percent of his total bankroll (there is an exception for the lowest limits: he is allowed to buy into any game with a buy-in of $2.50 or less).
* He doesn’t buy into a multi-table tournament for more than 2 percent of his total bankroll, but he’s allowed to buy into any multi-table tournament that costs $1.
* If at any time during a No-Limit or Pot-Limit cash-game session the money on the table represents more than 10 percent of his total bankroll, he must leave the game when the blinds reach him

neither one of u suggested which games i should be playing. nor did u suggest which sites. nor did u suggest whether i should play cash games or sngs. nor did u comment on the 5 points i mentioned. i dont think i bet more than 2% of my roll on any tourney, when u count the $2000 that means 2% is $40, and i never pay more than $5 or $10 for a tourney, maybe $25-30 if its got rebuys.

The 2000 you have in the bank is meaningless until yo put it into the accounts in question The highest roll you have at any of the sites you mentioned is $166 You need to be doing 2% of that amount in order to factor based on that advice.

Not sure what games you should play. Play what you are bet at. I tried to play cash games based on adivce from this and other forums but I found I didn't do nearly as well as I did when I play Heads Up tourneys so that is where I spend 60% of y online play. There are still people playing stud and other games online so if you feel that is your game certainly stick to it.

You need to track which of those three sites you are doing the best at and focum your play there. I would even say figure out which one you are doing the worst at and cash out to put it in one of the others.

Good Luck!

i decided to try the $10 double up sngs on cake that pay 5 outta 10 $20 and the other 5 who bust get $0. so far ive won 4 outta 4, not sure if thats a fluke or not. also won $18 at the bar tonite, in their little weekly $10 tourneys and cash games. been reading a lot of threads on 2+2 about pokertracker and HUD. id love to find out my stats in this, but should i really spend that money for them?

PokerTracker3 is my new religion. I think it took, oh I dunno, maybe 300 hands to increase my win rate...

You mentioned before about which games you "should" be playing. As long as you're sticking to a BR management plan then play what you like.

I think I'm a little like you in needing variety. Repetition is death for my game!I played mostly S&G's through July, mostly MTT's through August, and now NLHE cash games. Switch it up but KEEP RECORDS!

from all of what i heard you should only do 1% to 2% of you BR,
I only use 0.30C in any ring game i play. your best bet i think would be sit&gos.
Thanks rick i may see what he has to say thanks.
