advice needed

I would like to think Im a good player

im steady

I am not afraid of throwing away good hands if I see a potential flush etc

but what I cant seem to be able to play a strategy with is in facebook
lots of people especially with not very many chips will go 300 or more in pre flop

or during game

its usually men from middle eastern countries

and im not talking about if you have a good hand and u go all in

but people will go in 700 with nothing



how should I play these people

The only advice I can think of in situations like this is once you have identified players who do this and it's your turn to act with a hand within your playing range, either raise more than your usual, or just call and see what happens. The question I have is , how do they play post flop? calling stations? raisers? re-raisers? If you can't beat them by pre-flop raising, out play them post flop by betting out big if you catch or have an overpair to the board. One thing for sure is don't give them "free" cards.

I agree with never giving them the 'free' cards - but that isn't the problem in the OP's question. Nothing 'free' about the chronic ATC players who bet anything and everything.

I'm more conservative than a lot of NL players (being an old time limit player), so I play early more on position and situation. If the lukbox lotto players are behind me, I always try to think if the hand I have is worth playing at all, knowing I will likely see another raise or an all-in. I will fold a decent hand if we are still in the donkfest stages, especially if it looks like it will be a multi-way pot.

The brave and daring will argue that it's all about taking risks, values, equities, odds, percentages, etc. I argue that my decision is based in how much I value my MTT / tourney life. If you choose to be among the brave and daring, just be prepared to rebuy, reload, or run fast to all the site lobbies to see what is next on the agenda. If you place all your chips in the hands of Lady Luck, all I can say is 'GOOD luck', you'll need it.

There is only one way I know of to avoid these situations. It's called 'hitting the fold button'. No matter what you bet, raise, re-raise, re-re-raise, you will get called. These players get an adrenalin rush from someone 'pushing' them all in. It's what they live for.

Two things happen, IMO, in those early levels. The lucky ones get a big stack and the unlucky ones get their AA cracked and an all-out. Patience !! There WILL be hands worth playing where you whittle away at those donkey big-stacks. They'll be giving chips away shortly.

Agree absoloutely with the previous post. You can only lose if your in the hand, another credo I live by is " if it ain't worth raising, it ain't worth playing" ( unless your trying to trap ). eg. many players will call pre flop with suited connectors, or limp with pkt prs hoping to hit a set, try raising with them. Ask yourself this question before making a betting decision, am I prepared to call all in if someone pushes? Also the opposite, am I prepaired to let this go to a re-raise? some players just can't fold and will actually state after getting beat " I thought you had me beat". So why did they call? Is it an inane human trait to pat themselves on the back because they right? " Well I was right but I'm out so it's OK". At the end of the day if you think you have the best hand, play it hard. I watched the EWSOP today on TV and saw slow played aces cracked twice. Bad beats will happen but if you get your money in with the best hand pre flop and someone risks the tournament life knowing they are behind so be it. In the long run you will win, in RING games. To win tournaments you need luck, to win ring games you need skill. No one ever won a tournament without sucking out at least once. You rarely see players in ring games go berserk to a suckout, yet see it all the time in tournaments, why?. In a ring game it's just one hand, in a tournament, your out, it's over, after playing x hrs, your done.

seems logical , and yes most who do it have low ranked chips

on facebook they have star rankings at moment im a big dog having over 30,000 chips and am heading towards shark at 50,000

the next is pro 100 pro 250 etc

its amazing how many pros i see who are less than 10,000

and dont know how to play

shows that they buy there chips, which for a free game is funny as youd never get your money back
