Hi all,

Does anybody have links to any good articles/free videos or just comments about moving to 10nl? I am hoping I will be in a position to do this soon and am looking to take in as much info as possible before I move up.

Cheers

best advice: don't change much, 10nl is not much harder, there might be a few more regs tho. make notes and marks for both the fish and regs, table select like crazy, better to pla 2 tables with fish on then 6 tables full of regs. And also don't get in too many 3bet 4bet pots with the regs, it's not worthed.

Yeah it isn't that different, probably slightly more regs and slightly less fish and slightly more aggression in general. From your thread it seems like you're doing really well at 4nl so I wouldn't change your game plan at all. I find each new level takes a bit of getting used to, when moving either up or down, so don't expect to crush immediately. Good luck!

It's the same game. Stop over thinking it.

I have been watching it and it is certainly not the same game.

I have only seen one player continually blind steal at 4nl. Yet at 10nl I would say about 15-20% do it at least part of the time.

It is still poker. The difference is that the dumb things cost less at 4 NL and you make up for them faster. The steal percent is higher because the percent of regs is higher. First you need to learn patience because if you snap you are no different than the fish you abuse

Even at 4NL I notice that a substantial percentage of players steal at 50%+ rate.

Yeah sure.

Stop over thinking it :D

In terms of info, you need to continuously work on your game, even while your beating your current level. Value betting is key. Also don't over adjust as forsakenone said.

Gee thanks.

Could anybody who has successfully moved from 4nl > 10nl offer any thoughts?
Pretty sure everyone who has commented has done just that. You're looking for an answer that doesn't exist because there really isn't a whole lot of difference that doesn't reside solely in your head.

I've moved from 2-->10-->25-->50-->100-->200, and that's just NLHE. The steps between limits are quite incremental. The main difference is that there are more regs, and the fish get more aggressive as you move up in limits. However, you should pretty much play everyone the same. You treat regs as regs, and fish as fish. The game is the same.

Hence why everyone is telling you to stop over thinking it.

How long did it take you to do that (time/hands)? I would like to do the same :)
A year? 18 months? The games are probably tougher now at 100 & 200 NL, and everyone learns at their own pace. I wouldn't put any kind of timeline on moving up.

I am going to stick to my BRM but just for reference. I like to know it is possible.
