Hi, so thanks to my drunken rants over the last month? year? The kings and Queens of CC and the PZ guys have enrolled me into PokerZion's Iron Lion programme :) Many thanks!

I am going to use this thread to keep you all updated with what i'm learning, what i'm thinking of PZ, and how i'm getting on with my goals. Feel free to bombard this thread with any questions you may have, i will answer them all I'm sure.

Where I am now

I am currently a huge poker addict. I am currently playing FR on pokerstars. Most of my action is at 50 and 100nl (lowstakes) I will occasionally dabble in 200nl if i see juicy tables there, but in all honestly i don't feel super comfortable there as $200 feels like quite a lot of money to me, and where i play looser at 50 and 100, i feel like i tighten right up at 200 just because of the money, which obviously means i am playing scared, which is no good! I have a good track record at 50 and 100 and feel that i play well enough to consistently have an edge on the field there.

Where i want to be

I still want to be a huge poker addict. Apart from the money which is good, a huge part of the game for me is the competition, i spend a lot of time and i enjoy, working on my game and seeing how it makes me better than (some of) the guys i play with. I don't want to be playing low stakes for the rest of my poker career. So my main goal which hopefully pokerzion can help me with is becoming a mid stakes regular. I'm always studying poker, probably equally as much as i play it, but its getting tougher and tougher to just find obvious leaks, but i obviously still have plenty of leaks in my game and it feels like every month i learn something new and realise just how little i actually know about poker.

A couple of immediate aims of mine, hopefully some of which crop up in the PZ course:

-Playing in 3bet pots generally, i feel like i struggle when my 3bets are called and i'm OOP. I feel like i play pretty fit or fold in these spots, a bit too often. This may be an okay thing as it stops me making costly mistakes, but i'm sure i could gain some more EV playing more optimally, taking different lines and being more aggressive when i have equity and identifying when my opponents are on weak ranges and using the fold equity that comes with this more often.

-Coming up with strategies to own regulars. There are already a lot of regulars in the games i'm playing at the moment, things only get worse at 200 and 400, so if i want to achieve my goal of being a midstakes regular i'm going to have to get better at exploiting regulars, simple!

tl;dr

- I am a pokerzion member
- I play 50 and 100nl
- I want to play 200 + 400nl
- I still suck at the pokerz
- Hopefully PokerZion will make me better
- I will write about it all here.

Nice. I'd wish you luck but you don't need any more than you already have.

Been so busy playing a ton and watching all sorts of videos across multiple sites lately!

So far I'm up to week 3 with PZ.

The first video was kind of introductory but has kind of helped because now in pretty much all my plays im analysing whether i made my opponent make a mathematical mistake, and i'm always looking at spots where they may be making me make mathematical mistakes etc, so although it was like a refresh of stuff i already knew, it's highlighted that this should be our main aim in poker, and has helped me go over hands and see street by street whether or not im forcing mistakes.

Abusing regs and Creative lines were the next two, playing deceivingly is often the only way to force big mistakes and stack competent regulars is probably what i got from them video's, hand history of me being a little tricky since then... villain is a competent reg who plays 100nl and possibly 200nl also, i must of levelled him good here. I decided to 3bet the flop as when he raises i don't think he's really repping anything, or if he is its super thin and i'd expect him to flat some good hands a lot and 4bet them other times. If i were to flat here there would be no chance of me having any air in my range, so i 3bet and he thought i was FOS.

Next lesson is all about playing against c-bets so we'll see how that one goes. I've had a look around the site and there seems to be enough videos and stuff to keep me busy, trying not to watch too many as i also need to keep up the volume poker wise and don't wanna cram too much in. Personally have enjoyed watching some of John's videos of him playing 6max a lot, i think i probably gain just as much from watching them kind of videos, as his thought process and the way he explains stuff s really good imo.

Acky - How is Poker Zion going? I am thinking about getting some sort of coaching. Would you recommend it?
