Hello friends! I wonder what is the volume of hands that a professional makes a day, and what an amateur can do to be able to increase the number of hands ? I have played four screens and struggled to make 1,000 hands a day, but is something really tiring ... how I can evolve and be able to play more hands ? It is truly a gift to have so born or it is possible to evolve and become a mental athlete ?

Has nothing to do with how many hands if you don't win. It is really about being comfortable, being able to control emotions and being able to hold it to use the bathroom.

Longer sessions lead to mental strain, but if you are comfortable with the play and situations you get yourself into and can make easy decisions then the less "mental exhaustion" you will face.

Being able to take a few loses and keep grinding is probably one of the biggest factors.

I also think age factors in all of this too

Thanks for the reply , I felt more comfortable with that! But professionals have no standard of hands to play ? Because of the involved rake , I always heard that they were absurdoes numbers of hands per day as from 6000 to 10,000 .. . I 'm not professional, but I want to understand what this level of athlete takes to get it ... Indeed I have played fewer hands daily, and achieved better results ... how many hands you play ? You are professional ? Grateful for the help friend!

No professional and I can only 4 table so max is about 2k hands per day. Only person I know of on here getting that volume is Aces.

The professionals for sure have standards of hands and a lot of spots are simple to them because they have been in those spots so often so it takes less mental energy and lets them play more robotic like.

There is no set range

Some professionals play live, then they can only play 1 table. Even some online professionals only play 1 or 2 tables. The higher stakes you play the less tables you will be playing as you will often need much better reads.

However if you are playing the micros the standard is so poor you can get away with grinding pretty much as many tables are your brain and computer can deal with.

No need to play through force. Play as long as 4 of the table, but when you get used adds 1 table until you get used to it. No need to burden yourself just do things gradually.

on zoom you get up to 1000 hands per hour. But i find this hard. Went down myself from 2 to 1. Then you get to see less but can work on your game

try adding one extra table per session or every couple of sessions to ease yourself into being comfortable playing more tables.

Number of hands is not a criterion for determining your experience. If you are a beginner then play on several tables at once can only hurt you in the obtaining of experience. Professianaly played on a large number of tables because they have enough experience. They immediately properly assess the situation on the table. You should play for a maximum of 2 tables first. And then having the expertise to quickly assess the situation, increase the number of tables.

IMO better to work on your game on 2 tables (3 max) and fix any leaks before adding more than that. More tables = more money only if your game is good. Damage from leaks can multiply too as you increase number of hands, so better to strengthen your game first. GL!

You should play minimum 5k hands, but having a good game and super important retire a table when you have many profits never stay put a limit on earnings per table and tries to fulfill it

Number of Hands

It depends on what ur goal is etc, if you want to grind and make money playing 4-6 tables or if you to play tournaments. Volume is only relevant when u are playing thousands of hands. There is too much short term variance in poker so volume is only relevant long term imo, over lots of hands.

don't try to play more hands, try to play the hands that you do play better.

I'm not sure volume of hands played should be your focus. When playing more than 1 table I was told if you can't play 1 single table 100% optimal at all times why in the world would you add another table. You said you are an amateur so if U think U play 1 table optimally at all times then add another table, but NOT until then. If U don't think U can play optimally(being your A game) then why add another table & play your B or C game at each table?

If you really want to reach a certain volume of hands switch from STT to MTT.

Today I played 9 SNG's ( Turbo 9 max ). Hit between 58 and and 211 hands. Cashing in 5 ( 3 x 1st's ). Not great volume but nice profit.

Yesterday I played 4 MTT's. Cashed in two ( one final table appearance ). Saw well over 1000 hands for the day. Worked twice as long for a bit more profit and my eyes were burning from the volume of hands.

Right now I can't sleep and messing with a freeroll. Sitting at 300+ hands and just barely hit final table...

I do think there's some natural ability needed to be truly successful. The passion needed to grind hours on hours with the same success rate is something you can't teach. Learning how to improve from that base is the next step

Recently I had to step back to 3 tables becouse my poor performance with 4 tables. I don't know how long have you been playing, I personally have 6 weeks playing, started with 1 table. Hope this can help you as an example.
