ffirst of all glad to join this forum my name is ophir and I will prob be posting here alot since i have been playing poker ALOT lately . i am kind of new to this so forgive me if i do anything that I shouldnt and also --FORGIVE MY ENGLISH--

I was just wondering since i am not very good at math, what are the calculations on 3 betting prefloop and then betting flop.
how often does my opponent need to fold preflop and on the flop for this to be+ ev for me when lets say I am 30%/70 dogg to his precieved range i bet x3 his raise pre and just bet half the pot on flop. i just need to see how to calculate this. so that I can proceed to other calculations cause i just can get this right!!!!
also on floating:
how often does he need to fold on turn whenn he checks/// and to my reraise in order for the float to be profitable just please make up a hand and a range for him.
I just gottta see how you do it.
any help will be greatly apreciated and THANKS alot to any help I get.
thanks alot

ALright, scratch that. No idea how to delete that
cash game 1-2 nl 10 handed
I am on the button. my hand is :10h4: .:jh4:
no limpers mp raises to 10$ lets say by my observations his range to me is 65%-35% (i am 35). it is folded to me and I 3-bet on the B to 30$.
so I am betting 30 to win 13(no rake) and lets say he will call 70% of the time since he is getting good odds (call 20$ for a 43$ pot) and he calls alot.
so this is a - ev play, i am loosing money if i stop right there.
but, I know that he check- folds many times to a preflop reraiser lets say 60% on flop.
the flop is :2c4: :7d4: :8h4: he is now a 70% fav to this flop and his check dont mean thing.
he checks to me and I bet 40 into 63 with a 30% equity to myy hand.
--------STOP----------

I need to know over all including pre flop and post flop play how do I combine these two betting rounds to get an estemation of my EV.
do I just add the ev pre and the ev post?
any help with this greatly apreciated!!!!

Figure flop as a percent of pre flop for his calls.

Estimate how often he 4 bets pre flop and subtract that amount from the times your 3 bet fails. That is the % he is calling pre flop. I e. Call 20% 4bet 10%. Then figure flop on the 20%.

alright, here is what i mean. from your example lets say i win pre 70% of the time. so I am putting in 30$ to win 13$ so (0.7x43)-30=+ 0.1 ev.
now from those 30%, a 1/3 is poped. leave me with 20%. witch out of them he will fold 60% a little more considering his range and this flop. I bet 40 to win the 73$ pot on the flop. 113x0.6=67.8-40=+27.8 ev.
those 27.8 i devide by 5(20%) =+5.56 ev +0.1ev= +5.66 ev.
so is this right? is my 3bet preflop 5.66 ev? and on the flop my bet is 27.8+0.1 ev for my whole play? it just doesnt seem right.
If i am way off here someone please tell me that i am.

thanks alot GW I did not consider the 4 bet relevent untill you pointed this out:) .

You are not losing the money that is already in the pot, if your 3bet fails, so do not include it in your (negative side) ev calcualtions. It belongs to the pot.
It should look like this:
(-30*.3)+(13*.7) = .1
.2*((-40*.4)+(73*.6))=5.6
Total line ev includes both lines 5.6+.1=5.7 IF you do not have the best hand. Clearly your ev goes up when you have the best hand and get to showdown.
Your ev goes up substabtially if you can succeed 80% preflop. (4.4 on pre flop)
I like to 3bet the more stubborn players with a tighter range than those who are more inclined to fold.

Hi.., Firstly estimate how often he 4 bets pre flop and subtract that amount from the times your 3 bet fails which is the % he is calling pre flop. You are not losing any of your money here without loosing the game.
