I flopped the straight and allowed them both to get there on the river, where I folded.

Should have been aggrieve on the flop or just folded. But good fold when you did, would have been crushed by the guy with the straight flush.

Yeah, I played it weakly. I think there were two others in the hand on the flop and we checked it around, then I only bet half the pot on the turn and got the two callers. I played it badly but only lost a little to see a cool hand play out. :)

Youre never getting either hand to fold here so don't sweat it

Wow what a fold.
I don't really know if I have folded with an ace flush.
Is the other player with the straight flush all in and the ace player called? I think it was a good call with the ace baut bad luck because of the straight flush.

I was player 9 and had an easy check-fold on the river. Went back and reviewed the hand.

-Four players called the BB.
-Player 5 bet 3bb on the flop with his OESD + pair, myself and player 1 called, UTG+1 folded.
-The turn was checked around.
-I checked the river, player 1 bet .30, player 5 raised $1.98, I folded and player 1 called all-in.

Would have been a great fold-and-show from player 1, but that would never happen at the micros. A friend of mine faced the same situation at the CardPlayer Poker Tour in Choctaw this summer and lost a buy-in.

Blobweird is right. Player 5 still has 47% equity against my flopped straight (minus player 1's nut flush draw) so he's never folding the combo if we get it in on the flop. Given the micros, player 1 would likely call all-in on the flop if it had gone that way.

Probably lost the minimum even if it felt passive.

Oh sorry my mistake, your fold was very clearly. You got out of luck when the flush comes but it was worthy to see it till the end.

Yeah with no redraw on the flop, definitely should've been betting. You are getting call my a lot of combo draws, (pair & straight draw, pair & flush draw) and some just flush draws (Ac Kc and evidently 10c, even 9c would call). Next time bet every street hard. You can slow down when another club rolls off or if you are faced with aggression as someone probably flopped the flush.

Bad fold... You didn't know what your opponent had and your chance of your opponent having better was slim. You saved money this time so it was a good result in this hand but there are worse hands out there you could beat which would've called a shove or getting it in. It's weak play.

You must be thinking I was player 1; I should have clarified in the first post. I was player 9 and check-folded the river with a straight against a raise and reraise against at least one flush. Player 1 called off with the nut flush and was stacked.

After discussing with a friend, my check-calling the flop after flopping a straight is probably -EV long term. Check-raising the flop was probably best, except in this case player 5 has a monster draw and is never folding against two shorter stacks, and player 1 would have been along for the ride based on his half-stack.

It was certainly a tough spot to be out of position.

in that hand what happened is just luck, it's impossible to predict 100% of your opponent's cards in the flop you should be muchomas aggressive, better luck next time

Probably should have put in a 2/3-pot sized bet on flop and ofcourse fold river

Yeah, in this kind of hands you have to be aggressive on the flop, and even more, when you are against to 2 players
