I ran across an interesting way to use notes yesterday. I went on tilt bad bad on the .10 nl tables on full tilt. i lost 2 buy ins to QQ vs kk and then kk vs AA. I kid you not, I then lost 5 more buy ins calling off with 34 suited and the like. Now obviously you want to never go on tilt but it you do, here's an idea.

I made a note on every person at every table saying that they should have a note on me as a calling station/fish and may call me light. I do.t know yet but I may be able to take advantage of that in the future.

Does anybody else use notes and are there any ways that you use them in a unoque way that helps you in the future?

They probably don't take notes or will see you again to be honest

Sure...

But any advantage we get from them won't be able to overcome wasting 5 BI's because we are on tilt.

Stop thinking about note taking and work on your TILT issues.

Yeah, I got it under control. I actually ended up $50+ for the day. I haven't really tilted like that since I was a newbe. It was unpleasant.

I don't put it in notes but I will change the color of the felt on a table if my image is shit to remind me not to try anything else stupid on that table for a while at least.

I guess that's probably true but I do keep notes and semi frequently run across them. In a tourney on saturday I got at a table with a noted that I had proclaimed "will bet pot w/ air if checked to. Just make sure you don't get caught." I got into a pot with him and one other. I had top and bottom pair under the gun and checked. He bet, the other guy got out and I called. He bet the turn and river too with 2nd pair. I like notes.

no, I never noted that way, but I have lots of notes on people I play with regularly.

with the updates on FTP, I temporarily lose them

then for some reason, the notes reappear the next time I log on

Yes, using notes for me pays off. I use color codes for different types of players. For the sites that do not have a color code, like UB, I use notes on the page. Use the advise here that others have shared with you and good luck in your poker endevors.

Not on FTP. Any table that is already open stays the color it was when opened. If I open a new table after changing one of my tables colors the new one will open in the new color but I just change it back and all new ones after that will be fine. I have no idea how Stars work in this regard.

im not saying that you shouldn't take notes like that, i'm saying that you probably don't need to note how they perceive you because:

1. They probably don't take notes
2. They're not paying attention enough to remember you

Yes, I think that is a very good usage of notes, even though on Tilt you might not likely see a lot of them again. But it is a good idea.

The only thing that surprises me a little is that if "on tilt" how you would have the smarts to THINK of this idea!

But then that tends to support your saying that you had not tilted like that for a long time, so it's probably not habitual enough to be a major problem.
