A lil interesting thing at BOL 5/10NL

I've been playing a little @betonline. mainly small MTTs but a few cash games as well. I did notice something a little fishy at their highest no games. At their 6 person 5/10 tables often 1 person is sitting waiting to play. Sometimes I'll click on one of the 5 other open seats (gives u 15 seconds to reserve the seat and put $ down on the table). OFTEN times I've "reserved" a seat and INSTANTLY another person joins. This "new" player then waits and sees I'm not actually going to play then instead of playing the person originally at the table they leave as soon as I do. Sometimes they will join INSTANTLY TIME AND TIME AGAIN just to leave once they realize im not playing.

This was a major red flag that it may either be collusion or a bot.

Any one else experience this or have thoughts on this issue?

they are called bum hunters. sharks looking to play unknown players and take there money.

I haven't heard of betonline before but I highly highly doubt that companies use bots to steal your money, if they wanted they could of done it way easier.. Just no point in such a risk. These players you face are heavy grinders that play cash games for a living, they have loads of tables open and with the help of third party software they can automatically sit down as soon as you do in order to start making big money from fish. I highly recommend avoiding such tables, rather stick to the classic cash game tables with lots of people!

They are professionals who use statistical programs and data storage. Run away from them.

here is how it works. in poker you have the regs and the fish. the regs don't want to play against each other because poker is a negative sum game and besides why expose yourself to variance with no edge? but they like to play against fish because they have a big edge against them. these guys have often been playing against each other for quite some time but when they see a player who they haven't seen around before there is a good chance they are a fish so they want to play with them.
