Ok you are shortsatcked and in the small blind and look down at A/Js,what would you do.
It is a loose table to some degree but noone has raised.
Iwent all in and lost to A/Q limping in midde pos.

Since you are short stack that isnt a bad move, just got caught against the better hand. I like to call the over value of the ace bug, especially with the king or queen. gambling he did and he didnt even know what you had especially the 2 reasons, short stack and in the blind.

However if you still had 8X BB you could have even capped the sb and looked for a better hand which may not have come along.

what stage in the tourny is it, early, bubble, late? Late,I was already itm.
any reads on villian in this hand? Tight table, not like them to limp with A/Q,thats why I pushed.

A-J

In the blinds and short stacked I think it was a good move. Even if you had just raised you were pot committed at that point so why not. You just happened to run into a bigger hand. Cards run bad for everyone at at times and that just happened to be the case. I do not think it was a bad move. Better luck next time.:)

In the money, under 8X BB and the short stack...I can't fault it - played the way I would have.

Short stacked, I think this is the best move. As you said it wasn't like them to limp with AQ so you had a chance to take it down right there, Even with the call you still had one live card the Jack. Just not lucky enough.

Well I would assume that a limper with Ace Queen would actually be a tightplayer... but thats a different matter. Well since your short stack you haveno choice. You don't know if your gonna get another chance to win somemoney for yourself, and this is a fair hand to try it with. Since you say thetable is loose, maybe someone will call you with a weaker ace, doublingyou up, but in this case it was a stronger ace, but even so you could alwaysdog your way out. You did the right move for sure, dont regret it.

On the given info to shove is not a bad play but with more info as in stack size, blinds & antes, how many players at table that sort thing could maybe make another play or maybe not.

Depends

Since your table is loose, and you were short stacked. The all-in is definately one possibility. Since, your table is loose, depending if you truly want a coin flip or not. Think about it a 27 vs AK is near 60/40 and that is semi-close to a coin flip. I like to see flops and out play the opponent afterwards. If you have over ten BB's left, you are fine and do not need to rush anything. Next time, try to see the flop before a huge move.

Why push before flop for any prize?? But all in before flop with AJ is funny, even if you have a small bunch of chips left:)

short stacked i'm all in suited or unsuited. i also may do this with smaller SC's JTs-54s. and also pocket pair. i don't mind picking up the blinds as well as the limpers mooney. i will sometimes however just complete here. for a few reasons. one its only a small investment to complete you maybe getting 5 to 1 odds. two you got a hand that can flop well. AJs can turn into a very strong hand on the flop. and thirdly i like to be the first to put oney in the pot. i know the guy only limped but doesnt mean he doesnt have a hand. but despite all these reasons i still push most of the time here.

No way I limp there with only limpers ahead of you your fold equity was good. I have made that same move with much less then A/J.

The real question may be should you have made that move before you were down to 8X.

Loose table, so you should expect a call from at least one of these loose players just to see the flop. Especially since they are going to know you are short stacked, good position, and somewhat pressured to bet on any good hand. I say go 1/2 your chips and see the flop. If no help on the flop, go all in and let them think you hit. Just another way of bluffing since your odds just went down by missing the flop. If someone bets ahead of you... i would fold.

with a tight table I would probably shove all-in with 8BB left. just bad timing since someone limped with a huge hand

when blinds are high, or you are in a tournament with inexperienced players, you really need to pay attention to the limpers in early and mid position, as they may really have wanted to raise their hand., but they arent the raising type, they just call or reraise.

AJ suited, SB, see a flop, then make up your mind, I wont raise in late position with early limpers, too many times I get KK on the button or in the blinds, to push all in and find the UTG limper has AA.

shortstacked, I either see the flop or fold AJs, I prefer to see flops.

AK shortstacked, I'd push in or QQ or better...

maybe even 3 3 or something, just to gamble :p
