I deposited $200 on Absolute for the bonus and have set about clearing it. I am playing 6max $1/2 FL. I am buying in short(20 bb) and playing uber tight except when in the blinds. Its been effective but I have still had two big downswings and four large upswings. One thing I do is raise and re-raise the monsters to the river disregarding flop texture entirely. Sometimes it has contributed to the downswings(had kings cracked by 5,2 suited) but mostly it has maximized my profit on my premium hands. I am not advocating ignoring the board as a rule(I can make a case for it though with the monsters) but while clearing bonus I think its effective. There are so many bad players that will over-call and re-raise with crap or nothing when a scared card comes that I have chosen to ignore them with my premium hands. If a solid player is in the hand with you they will usually be gone before they suck out. Now I have made a nice profit and I'm looking for the next easy bonus, any suggestions?

I have played like you, and not just to clear bonus. I still do a lot of times.

Theres a lot of advantages for being shortstacked, and youll get paid off by marginal hands a lot.

But the thing about disregarding the board.

When you get a premium hand, and youre sitting with 20 on a 100NL table, yes you dont look back simply because you cant afford it.

Any raise preflop + c-bet is committing you.

But anyway, when you say triple up on a table, you should start playing postflop poker and paying attention imo.

I can't disagree with your points. Buying in short in NL has its merits, but as stated above I am playing Fixed Limit to clear the bonus. Often time you will fold a big hand to a supposed flush and find out the player had bottom pair or a dry ace. I am simply advocating play the monsters hard. You will still sometimes get "rivered" or drawn out on but you should make enough on the pots you win to still get a positive expectation. Monster hands come along infrequently so make the most of them.

Easy Bonus

If you say Absolute has an easy clearing bonus than the cake poker bonus propably blow your mind.

Absolute Poker compared to Cake

Absolute Poker requieres at least 0.50 rake to make it count towards your bonus 1$ for tournament play, Cake dosn't.

AP pays you 5$ for every 10$ raked in ring games or 5$ for every 20$ in tournys. But as the ring games don't reach .50 of rake all the time they propably make 20$ before you get your 5$ as well.

So screw AP go to Cake rake in 20$ and get 10$ back, using a rakeback affiliate get's you above 50% rake back while bonus clearing and 33% after.

Check it, AP sucks compared to that...in my opinion AP sucks anyway but thats a diffrent story.

GL and have a nice day.
