Might as well get one started...looks like it may be around for a while. I've had moderate success only to get busted out by bad beat after bad beat. It's difficult to know who you are playing against, etc. Probably safest just to play ABC poker with c bets & semi bluffs mixed in??

Yes, I've noticed that as well. If there is no raise before the cutoff or the button, either the button or the cutoff raises 8 out of 10 times. If neither raise, the sb raises almost always for the steal. I've also noticed some nasty blind defenses....like 3-4 limpers, then bb raises 8 bb+.

I've also noticed c betting almost 90% of the time - wild....if you flop the best hand out of position, good idea to check raise here??

Because there can be no playing the player, positional/statistical poker takes over. It is absolutely correct to raise an unraised hand from late position. The blinds may not even still be around! The table may actually be empty by the time you get around to betting. It is also correct to reraise a LP bet from the blinds.

I would suggest not using that quick-fold button. No action from others is an opportunity for you.

While there is no way to know for sure what other players are like, a very large stack might well indicate over-aggressiveness, much like a huge stack does in a freeroll or the Daily Dollar. Or it could indicate a thoughtful lucky player... cannot be sure.

Rush is definitely a good way to rack up points, for ironman or bonusses. Zip, zip, zip!

It's high variance, but it seems quite possible to play poker, even when it seems like bingo at a gallop. I also like that there can be no name-calling--or you might miss it if it happens. :D

so far 3betting seems to be pretty prominent.....most of the time people are 3 betting light though. I really dont have much of a problem shoving AK when facing a sb/bb 3bet. Secondly abc has to come into play here. A little semi bluffs...but basically know what your equity is and you should come out ahead....also I'm getting thin value as much as possible here as well. So not many pot sized bets on the river (unless Im almost positive what they are holding.) I'm definately betting something that I know will be called by less (which should be standard anyways.) But with so little time to act, I dont think betting smaller on the river is a problem with so many fish. I would advise getting a little nitty'er than you might be. Variance should even out though being that you can play so many hands in an hour session. Today I'm already up to 800 ftps.....this is gonna be awesome for rakeback. But this might change the game of internet poker drasically......at least for the micros to 100nl.....So far I'm in on this rush poker thing although I cant use a hud. We will see in a week or so.

What do yo think a good average, thin river value bet for Rush would be? I've been doing a little over half the pot on average with moderate success...maybe a little less if I think my opponent is really weak.

One of the first things I observed was more cbetting and 3betting from the blinds pre flop, and countered it with a lot of resteals, and ended my second rush session last night very much egg on face; -6BI for 2k hands. I think because we are folding so much and not seeing the rest of the action that I am under the illusion that people are 3betting light more often than they actually are - not to say that there isn't more restealing going on, but it may seem much more than what it actually is.

I'll have one more session today, I was running 22/18 last night but really playing aggressive from the blinds, squeezing at nearly every opportunity and 4 betting a lot - my first profitable session I was really nitting quite hard, which I may resort to again later today (this is 10NL rush btw).

I was of the (I think wrong now) opinion that in my second session it would have been optimum to take a super aggressive TAG approach. Tonight I think I'll approach it with the opposite approach to last night - and let the maniacs hang themselves.

The action seems to have died down a little today. Not as much action as yesterday....looks like the maniacs have taken a beating and even tightened up some. I've played about a 1000 hands so far today and I'm about even. Lost most of my winnings when I was ahead at least 70/30....made most of my $$ stealing from late position by 3 betting. Tried check raising the flop a few times with nothing, worked really good 2 times got burned the 3rd.

From what I've experienced so far, 6max and FR play quite differently. At FR, pretty sure the optimal at the moment is to play super nitty, something like 13/10. And obviously the nittier you play the more hands you play, so even if BB/100 went down a little, $/hour could still go up.

At 6max I'm not so sure.

The important thing to remember is that since people can't get reads on you, you don't need to balance your play at all. So you can choose to play super nitty or super loose or whatever if you determine that it's a strategy that exploits the player pool, because you won't get punished for it as you would at a regular table.

Very good strategy. I tried it this morning and have picked up a lot of the blinds, by not using the quick fold button. Thanks for the info. X :tee:

I've been playing mostly full ring b/c I got a bad taste in my mouth yesterday playing 6 max...got AA, KK cracked twice, and all cracked within 60 or so hands by people playing A - rag, J-9, and hitting the flop with 2 pair, straights, etc....I might check it out later today to see if the action has tightened up a little, b/c full ring's action is dead. Can't get any callers with AA or KK unless I min raise (then I seem to get 2-3 callers and they end up hitting something, lol...very fustrating) ...had them 3 or 4 timed last session and everyone folded to a 3 bet pre flop....didn't make any $$ off of them...

Just now I raised from the SB with suited connectors (everyone folded around to me prev), BB called a 3 bet, I flopped an open ended straight draw, I c bet, bb calls, I hit straight on turn, check raise all in, bb calls with no pair, suited A-8, hits flush on river.....ughh

Rush + fish + heater + stealing like a maniac = monies + awesome.

EDIT: Don't 3-bet from the blinds, do it from the button, they fit or fold post-flop and when they call pre it's a super obvious marginal hand.

Sitting 400bb deep and five a side footy plans in 30mins = the life.

EDIT: Because it's effectively one big table I don't think you can leave and sit down with less can you?

yes you can. You can rathole anytime you want, and i highly recommend it if you are not used to playing super deep.

Well it really depends on the hand and how it has played out so far.....so if I'm sitting on a hand Im pretty sure I will get some action, maybe 3/4 pot at most unless I think they are on a hand that will call more. Probably most of the time I'm betting around 1/2 or less just so the fish will call with third pair etc....Being that I dont know who the fish are anymore since i upgraded my operating system and the green markers for fish are gone, Im pretty much assuming everyone is a fish.

Watch yourselves when you get deep as well guys....I ran into 4 of a kind last night against my boat for about 3buy ins. Thats a hand I would like to take back. Also, I think double barreling oop without a ton of equity is -ev, which some of you might be used to doing. Right now I'm gonna be close to super nit and rape the crap out of the rake.

LOL @ no name calling. Or getting 'even' with the donk who calls you down w/o odds to a turn shove on a weak draw.

Highly suggest you learn this variant using play money.

It is faster than anything u can imagine. Faster than multi-tabling 15 tables prolly.

The only way to exit is to close the window with the X, standing up never gives you a chance to exit.

Awfully fast way to learn online poker, and maybe ways to play alternate styles.

The play money donkishness didn't much exhibit itself. Thing went so fast most folks were folding, very surprising.

You can actually exit by just clicking "sit out next hand" and you can stay around and watch the hands play out. I've actually been doing this when I have money invested in a multi-way pot to see which player had what. I've also been marking players and taking notes on them..if you play enough hands, you actually run into them again.

Also, if you are down to heads up at showdown, I've noticed the player you go to showdown with is at your next table! (I've just noticed this on 3 occasions, not sure if it happens all the time)

On the 10NL FR tables I've been stealing like craaaaazzzyyy from the cutoff and the button, with any two cards if no one raised before me....unbelievable.....PT doesn't work on these tables but my successful steal % has to be over 80%, absolutely fantastic!

Also, if I've been getting called by the BB I've been laying down very suspicious 2bb c bets and they are folding to them!! As in more often than if I lay down a standard 1/2 - 3/4 pot c bet...unbelievable.

Another thing that cracks me up is that people seem to be calling down to the river with 2nd pair, ALOT.

So far, I can honestly say I've made much more money from stealing & c betting than from the pre-flop monsters: AA, KK, QQ,

Still having trouble getting value for my AA, seems like anytime I get them, everyone folds around. Suggestions....please don't say "limp" in with them....maybe from early position...but what about late position with no raises or callers before you??

So you can click 'sit out' if you were in a hand but folded, to stick around to see the hand play out?? Hmm.... kinda wanted to do this when I actually folded KK preflop one hand (yah.. I folded KK... all 3 players in hand were min. 200bb's deep, I 4bet pre and another guy shoved over & then the other called.... click 'fold'...sigh.. (would've liked to have seen the showdown then)

Yeah, I do it all the time. (Click the sit out next hand button before I fold) If you do it, then the hand also registers in the hand history...prettty cool.

One of them probably had AA if they were that deep...most likely a good fold. No reason to risk your whole stack pre-flop against 2 others in that format, if you click fast enough, you'll get them (KK) again in a few minutes, lol.

From what I have seen of these, no one wants to let go of their hand once they see a flop. The pace makes people speed up their play as well and seem to have more gamble in them.

Another suggestion is to slow down your play when you play a hand. Take some time to think about what you are doing. Also, stick around and watch a hand finish. You will see some of these players again at your table and any information you can note will be worth while.

Yes, very good points. I'm actually ahead 2 buy ins over 2000 hands so far mostly from stealing blinds from the cutoff and the button & like you said, people seem to have trouble laying their hands down until the river...sometimes they suck out but so far it's been profitable.

I've been color coding the....uhhum....let me use proper terminology so people don't call me a racist....the loose agg/donkish/maniacs/ - purple, the call station /passive /fish - blue, the average player yellow and the super nitty, you better have the nuts to call - red....lol.

how do you actually have time to color code them?....being that they are off of the table. I really wish I hadnt updated my os cause I had a lot of fish colored in green. That would be a great thing for me to have right now.

I usually can only get one per hand...I'll right click on their avatar as soon as the hand is over - you can still color code their name even though the avatar flys away while you're doing it, lol.

I played ALOT of hands today @ rush. And I made a good amount of money! I made more money today @ 10nlRush than EVER in my poker career so far...heh. I usually just play for fun, and end up blowing my roll somehow or another playing outside of BRM or whatever. I think I was on an unbelieveable run because I was not losing any hands at all for a long time. I mean almost every hand was holding up, but eventually in the last 1/2 hour I think variance caught up to me. I am up around 20 buyins for the day maybe a lil more, and lost 3 and 1/2 buyins in the last half hour. I also made 815 ftp points. I did try PLO rush out for a lil bit also, but it was swingy I won a few at first then lost it all and some. I also tried 25nl rush, but am not really rolled for it yet, but did double up from 50bb a time or two and even got to 200bb deep stack from 50bb then I think I lost 50bb or so.

@10nl Rush :I think it is best to be a nit, and to rathole..lol. People are calling down with medium pair alot, or small Aces sometimes. I also think some people are stealing alot, as I caught a couple bluffs with top pair hands vs one time I remember AJo who had missed his inside str8 draw. I also have seen people chasing inside str8 draws lolol. Where are these people when I am sitting at the regular full ring tables? I just wait for a top hand and try to hit a decent to good flop. I think I could probably steal more from late position, I always press quik fold and almost never watch the hand complete unless I have contributed money into it and want to watch it play out(usually post flop tho). I did however have sucess restealing I think from the blinds, I know BB i think some in the SB. When late position would raise I would just 3bet and they fold most of the time, unless they had a real good hand. I have no HUD, but was able to 6 table RUSH with sucess also. I think when I only had a couple tables up I stole a lil bit, but when I added more I wasnt able to a much.

Well this is only day 1 @ Rush for me and I like it so far, but maybe I was just lucky as hell all day... who knows. I think also maybe since RUSH is new, alot of players are "trying" it for the first time. So alot of hands might be against non-cash players who might be used to playing SNG or MTT. I am sure people will develop strategies, and the competition will get harder, or variance will kick my butt after this great run today haha. I am gonna enjoy this while it lasts tho!

I also wasn't really rolled for 10nl, so I had lost my 30$ roll trying Rush for the first time the first day. Lost AA to KK preflop allin we raied and rr each other and all rag board then BAM river K and he won lol. So I deposited again, and started @ the 10nl rush buying in for 50bb and leaving when I hit 100bb, or ratholeing i guess as you can stand up and just sit right back down for anywhere from 40-100bb's. BU T I wouldnt recommend doing it that way, just be rolled for it and buy in for 100bb, which I did after I had ~8 Buyins @ 10nl. If I had enough to buy in for 100bb from the get go I imagine I could be even richer?! Heh.

Well thats my thoughts so far on how to win @ rush. GL on da felt!

PS... Rush is alot of fun imo, once i start i can't stop lol. Probably just because it's new. Like the poker version of crack or something lol
