I recently withdrew all my money from bodog, to find out that they gave me like $8.63 because they think I'm a nice guy. Can I do anything with that, seriously? I have played tourneys, but usually lose early on to some moron playing 7-2 offsuit because the poker gods think it's cute. So, I don't think playing a tourney with that is a great idea, but you never know.

What would you guys do?

Personally at Bodog I would play the 1$ sngs for a while, last time I played there it payed five places. So if you have made enough to cash out already im sure you would be able to play these without to much trouble.

Good luck

Head to the 10NL table and gamble. Those are spectacularly easy to beat at Bodog. Of course it's totally unreasonable to play with your whole bankroll at the table, but if I understand you correctly, this is not really serious money for you, right ?

$5 H2H SnG, then $10, then $20. I'm presuming that Bodog has a minimum cash out amount. There's no point wasting ages trying to grind it up, either roll it up or lose it.

Or play a tourney, maybe it's your turn for a bit of luck.

$2.20 Single table SNG's are the best way to go with that much money. Just be very patient, no one else is at that level. Really don't do much until you are guaranteed your money back (5th place)

Pays 1st-4th and you only lose $0.20 if you get 5th (rake).

I would strongly disagree paying in the cash tables. With that much money you could lose it all in 1 hand.. You should of able to play 3 or 4 tournaments even if you lose all of them. Even if you go in with the min. ($2) you are going to look like you have a target on your back and most likely you'll have to push it all in pre-flop with a great hand. You wouldn't even be able to play the flop with that much, most of the time.

I've been down to $2.50 before and brought it back up to around $30 from only playing these $2.20 SNG's, it takes awhile but it's a very safe way to do it.

The $1.20 tournaments are 5 tables and I think they give you some money for the top 7 places. I really don't think these are worth the effort at all considering even first place inside much more than $12, you have much better chances at the single tables.

I don't really mind the grind. I started with 50$, did the grind, finally 2 weeks ago withdrew 2975$ and some change. Rather than pushing my luck I decided I shouldn't be gambling with such large amounts. So I took my money and took care of some bills.

I'm confident I can turn my 8$ into something larger, and I don't care either way. It's all fun and games. I'm going to be playing this 8$ differently than I usually would and thats why I asked here what I should do.

I might do that Twitch. I've never played a small SnG. I usually play around 20$ SnG's

Well, I played in a 2$ SnG saturday night. It lasted just over an hour and I walked away with 1st. Only got me 6$, so its hard to justify the time put into it. It cost me 2+0.20, and I walked with 6$, meaning I only made 3.80$ for over an hours work. Slave labor anybody?

Hehe, great fight. I loved watching B-J Penn kick Sean Sherk's ass :)

Extremely disappointed at the Tito Ortiz fight though....the other guy was fighting like a ***** I was so hoping Tito would break his arm or choke him :(

edit: woops, it turned B J into blackjack lol

I'll take $3.80 of safe profit over $2.00 of gambling in a cash table anyday.

Yea, I suppose. I'd be playing in these freerolls too if they weren't at the worst times ever for me. It's hard when you have 2 jobs and do volunteer work on top of that.

Grinding it up is fun. I turned 30 dollars from a 4th place finish in a freeroll on Bodog into around 300 and then lost it all playing higher stakes cash games than I should have been playing. It's back to freerolls haha, at the moment i have $1.75 and im playing more freerolls trying to build that up and then instead of cash games ill take it to the SnG's, sounds like a safe way to build it up. I would deposit some money, but Bank of America sucks. I know there are ways around it, but it is fun trying to build something out of nothing. If I am able to build up my online bankroll I will have to find a way to deposit some cheese in order to cash out.

Turning $8.00 into something is certainly possible if Bodog offers cheap sitngoes and penny stakes 2nl games. Stars shipped me $5 for free about a month and a half ago. I was in the middle of waiting for an overdue cashout from FTP. I started off playing a couple $1 45 mans to start, not exactly good BR management but I ended up winning 1st in one of them and 3rd in another which put me up around $15-20. Then I started 4tabling the 2nl 6max cash games and got up to about $45 dollars or so, at which point I switched over to 2nl full ring, started buying in deep, playing 8 tables, got up to about $120 , did the same thing with 5nl, bought in shallow at first until I got to about 170 and started buying in deep for 10. till I reached about $240. I'm now 6 tabling 10nl with $330 at the moment. When you first start out there's a pretty good chance you can go busto, but if you are lucky enough to get to a point where you can maintain a proper bankroll for the lowest stakes that they offer, you should be in pretty good shape.

Ok, So I don't know how to post this exactly as it happened, but I figured I'd give you guys a bit of an update. I've played a few tourneys and this is how it went.

Starting Cash - 8.99

First tourney cost me 2+.20, leaving me at 6.79

I won 5 in that and it bumped me up to 11.79.

I bought into a cash game for 2$ hoping to make some cash a little faster.

Lost that 2$ in 5 minutes. :(

got a bonus of .15 somewhere, bumped me up to 9.94

I bought into another 2$ cash game, lost my 2$ again.

Got frustrated with that and in an effort to make m money back, I bought back into a table with 5$ this time and made my way up to 9.15 which bumped me up to 12.09

bought into another tourney for 2+.20 putting me at 9.89, won 2nd and i am up to 14.89 now.

So all in all for the 3 tourneys I played, all were 2+.20, I placed 1st, 4th, and 2nd.

I'm going to try a few more tourneys tomorrow and see how things go. I've never played with such a small bankroll and I've never realized how difficult it is. I'm learning about bankroll management quick.

I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with such a small starting amount. I eventually would like to get the money out and into a more reputable site with more tourneys
