My game for now is 5NL. I read some poker theory that stated you should raise the button with most of your playable hands in 6max and then take a stab at the pot with a cbet on the flop if a high card hits your perceived range. It then says you shouldn't double barrel often and give up on the turn if you don't improve.

How profitable do you think that advice is if the high card is an ace. I ask bc a lot of players at this level love to play AX and will undoubtedly call a flop cbet with it.

I usually won't cBet if a flop comes A,T+,X. My thinking is they're too likely to call with AX or some top heavy hole cards on a draw.

What if the flop is an ace and two rags?

I just would like to know if it's a profitable play in the long run. I know it all depends on players but I'm asking in general.

yes, you need to cbet a lot in dry flops like Q52 , K47, etc
you can check the Q9J , KJT flops

sometimes you also need to check if you have like A3 in flops A22 because almost no worse hands will call you
