Does anyone here ever play 5 card draw? If so, do you have any tips?

i've only played draw at home games, and even then only a couple times.
I suggested someone write a 5 card draw article, but noone volunteered :(
I think it'd be a great addition to the site.
(no i don't have any tips, cardsharp. I'm clueless )

yeac ive played a lot of 5 card draw in my time. Generally position is king, and you need to base a lot of your decisions besed on that. Playing 2 small pair is a bad idea, watch the draw, and watch the players that draw 1 card holding trips, generally dont slow-play.

Err there is books on this topic, gl though. Ill try and write a little more when i get over my hangover.

I've been playing alot of 5draw in the last couple days. Im startin to realy get the hang of it. I had a great session yesterday. I won $25 in just under an hour playing $.25 PL/5 handed. I brought $10 to the table and worked it up to $20 after 45mins then caught a huge hand. I caught a full house against 2 people who hit their set and cleaned them both out. That put me at $36 and I called it a night. I probly woulda stuck around longer but it was 4:00 in the morning and I needed some sleep.

Like tenbob said, it's all about position. If you find a table of weak oponents you can get away with alot of bluffs. I love the amount of deception in this game, the way you can draw a certain amount of cards to trick your oponents.
