I play in a local live cash game that has $5/$5 blinds.

Does this change our play in any way positionally or otherwise?

No but you just end up losing more from the sb in the long run

It should change your preflop raise size. You now have 2 players with a BB that can potentially feel like they need to protect their children :) Once you have a read on the players you will know who you need to size your preflop bets larger for to get more value from the ones that like to protect their blinds.

Thats interesting way of looking at it Jilly. So on that basis, stealing the blinds becomes less attractive (it is in cash games mostly anyway) because there are in effect two BB to get past.

Thanks!

Just hope that you find the 2 biggest nits at the table sitting directly to your left and stealing the blinds will definitely be profitable for you at $5/$5. Not that I think you will see it folded around to you too often on the button in a live game.

Steal more on the button, obviously. When there's $10 in the pot instead of $7, there's more incentive to steal it.
