I have been hitting the tables pretty hard and was wondering what you people do for wrist support over the long haul. I hit around 5k hands a day and really need help with my wrist health for the future.

Yeah short and sweet! Pleas help meh!

I use a wrist pad for the mouse like this one.... works great for me. I also try to have my arm level with the mouse

Get a wrist brace at your local drug store. Keeps it straight and provides support up the forearm. Used for carpal tunnel.

I wonder if one those braces for bowling would work as well

I suppose they would, assuming you are talking the small ones that strap around your wrist as opposed to the one I had that resembled something from robocop ...

I keep my arm level with the mouse but am thinking of getting a gel pad like the one shown. I already have some CT so have a brace which I use when my wrist starts to hurt but was told to be careful using it all the time as it could actually make my wrist weaker. Don't know how much truth there is in that, might want to google it.

It's what I use when I start feeling it in my wrist/palm. Mine has metal in it that keeps everything straight.

Although, sometimes I wonder if the carpal tunnel is too much computer time, or to much playing with Mr. Winkie...

I've found a vertical mouse to be very helpful.

I know a couple guys around here use a keypad controller and trackballs which are meant to be easier on the wrist. I swap the buttons around on my mouse every month or so, so I am not repeating the same motion soo much. Can be hard with misclicks when your brain tells you that the other button is for folding not raising...

I have an older model, but I've had luck with bamboo pen by wacom. (notice, not the "pen and touch" model)

One of the huge benefits of this is you can hover the pen above the writing surface, and the mouse cursor still tracks properly. also, the pen does not require batteries.

Of course, everyone's ergonomic issues are different. Your results may differ from mine.

If there are any artists in the house, all the better.

EDIT:
If you are looking for a zero cost solution, consider playing left handed for about a week. (or vice versa)

Thank you for the advice!

I have been playing 80-100k hands a month at RUSH and I know that I am going to regret this is the future.

I stack my tables. Reduces mouse movement a lot.
