When is it a bad idea to 3bet an EP raise with AK? Are there spots we should just flat and take a flop? Is 3betting EP raises 100% of the time with AK a leak?
Do you play nl100 on stars btw?
villain and spot dependent.
I wish. I'm afraid I'm not that good and I live in the land of the free.

you give examples? might be more helpful than pointing out whats lacking in MY post.
No. Post hands. Stack sizes matter. How positionally aware they are matters.closer to New Hampshire
Sorry, full ring. So I'll just throw out some hud stats I guess and see what happens.

post hands where you have AK vs an open with stats..
..and stop playing FR, its the devil's game.
I once had posted a similar question on here some time ago....Long story short, the reply that honestly stuck with me, is "Don't 3bet without the intention of getting it in"....
At first I was like really, so assuming I 3bet in a 6max game vs a nit, and they 4 bet, I should 5 bet jam? It didn't make much sense to me, until it actually hit me what person that posted was implying, It's easy to 3bet vs anyone (hell everyone can do it), yet the intention of 3betting should only be to GII vs certain players, and another thing about 3betting is that it should be done vs villains that have a decent fold to 3bet% and/or villains that love to 4bet light, thus we 5 bet Jam...
I hope this helps
ok can you let me know exactly which/or what or why that's a no, if you don't mind..
Hey btw, this is how I took the post that was intended on a thread I had started, but since that's wrong I'd like to know why
If you're restealing or playing light for whatever reason, you don't need to get it in just because you 3 bet? 3 betting with the intention of getting it in just doesn't make sense as general advice. Against some terrible reg for instance who will flat 3 bets oop most of the time he opens so that he can go all fit or fold on you but will only 4 bet or jam AA/KK, that would certainly be a player you can repop for value without having to stack off with AK. The key to 3 betting is to know why you're doing it so that you have a plan depending on how your opponent responds. Even better is when you already have a good idea how your opponent is likely to respond, and you want an idea of his ranges etc.
