Anyone use this?

I know the standard is 3x 3 bet, which I do most of the time but I've been mixing it up

sometimes I use it if I think they'll fold to a 3x. I'll do it with AA or 9 10s or a few others. It doesn't scream strength and seems like a weak bluff

It really confuses people and they totally tank. It's kind of funny. The longer they tank the more likely they fold to a Cbet.

Advantages might be steal a bit more preflop or build a bigger pot for a Cbet

Disadvantages is giving a marginal hand the chance to outflop me... smaller pot postflop....?

Any comments?

I feel a 2x 3bet is polarising yourself to either having a strong hand your desperate for a call but wanting to try and build a pot or, you have a weak hand hoping that showing a slight bit of strength they will fold to your 6 high IMO.

I just don't think 2x 3betting does much for us.

Thanks for the reply

So you'd recommend sticking with 3x for consistency?

Would polarizing be a bad thing?

Mixing up bet sizes may confuse your opponent or even tilt them....?

Polarising would only be a good thing if your wanting the villain to make a tough decision IMO so yeah I'm sure there's ways of using this within your favour, but I would assume it would be -ev in the long run.

I'm just the one that tanks forever, trying to figure out what the heck your min 3bet means haha.
Against fishier opponents I wouldn't min 3bet that much. They are going to call most of their junk hands to a bigger 3bet anyway, so you will have a harder time building the pot.
Most forum members seems to think it's a bad move, but I wouldn't be so quick on ruling it out. It could definitely be a good move against certain opponents, for example the ones who get really confused by it.
I would really love to hear some expert's view on the min 3bet

It just doesnt acomplish anything, When you have value min 3betting wont get you max value. there are more +ev lines you can take Check raising their bluffs for example.

I've used a min 3bet recently with medium-strong hands to isolate a fish in EP.

Example: UTG is playing 80/50 and rarely 4bets. I am in MP. CO and BU are good players. UTG raises 3x. I 3bet to 5x with hands like KJo, 98s. I hope that the remaining players will fold and UTG will call. The goal is to see a flop in position vs the fish but without a big investment preflop.

I don't know if the math works or if an expert would agree but this is how I am using it and it often gets me to the flop in position vs fishy players.

I like this idea. Something that I also do that is similar is betting an amount that seems like it is just trying to induce a call. Its something I do when I have nothing and believe my opponents (heads-up) also has nothing. If they call, no big deal, didn't cost too much and I get info. But sometimes people will find it fishy and just lay down their bad hand. Of course if they have a hand it is horrible, but you know its pretty situational anyway.
