Been reading about 5nl been a nit fest vs 2nl on Stars and that is better to jump to 10nl and different opinions on the matter this days. Some say is the same fish pool on 2nl & 5nl and that 10nl is when start to change, some that difference is huge, some that 10 nl is easy vs 5nl.

So after my session today on 2nl decide to see some filters run on all. Set 25% VPIP filter, more than 6 players seated (i play FR), antes or not, standard and others, and get this.

2nl tables
2nl tables

5nl tables
5nl tables

10nl tables
10nl

Then decide to lower the filter to 20%VPIP for 5nl & 10nl together and get this
5nl 10nl 20tables

So yes, the difference on 2nl vs 5nl is huge. my question is, if want to play 5nl or 10nl what you do to find tables?, i´m playing 8 tables on 2nl which is easy to find, but if we are talking that there is no more than 3-4 tables with avg 20% vpip or higher you just look on waiting list and wait and wait to load your tables, or just load whatever tables and after time see if a table is worth or not?. I remember reading blackrain ebook time back and mention that if table is 15%vpip on avg should get out, but if all tables are like that this days what you do?. you just look to your color coded players or what?. Last week when was playing 5nl from 8 tables maybe 4 looks like 20vpips but after a round or two most was 15-17 vpips.

What you guys do to table select?. and what you guys higher than this levels do?.

At the minute, playing 2nl 6m, I just open tables and see what the stack sizes look like, trying to find a seat with 2 weird stacks on my right, like $1.65 or something, this to me means either:

a) They're just not buying in for 100bb

b) They usually buy in for 40-50bb and they have chipped up a bit

Which is the players we want on our right.

When I was playing 12+ tables of FR I just used easy seat, with filters set up like the ones you used, and left after an orbit if the stats weren't looking good. Which maybe isnt the best strategy, but its the easiest when playing a lot of tables.

When playing FR though I dont see any real difference between the limits up to 16nl tbh, I remember first moving up to 10nl and thinking it was nails and all the 50nl regs opinions were out of date, but theyre not, obv you have the filters there but look at those lobbies for say 5 mins and there'll be plenty of tables that come in imo

Thanks Peeleo

Not sure why we want shorstacks on our right? and even look for them?, usually if i see 2 shorstacks or more in the table i just not sit in. I buyin with $5 on 2nl so usually looking for the oposite (bigger stacks), also have color coding the shorstacks and the big stacks (with difference on color on fish vs decent). But tbf i don´t have any problem with tables on 2nl.

About the $1.65 stack, this also could mean that player buyin full ($2) but don´t autorebuy (which is the mayority in 2nl) so he just lose a little, agree that also could be a shorstack that enter with the typical 80c and double up but again why we want to play vs this players?.

About the limits, not sure how was before because never play much cash but after US players was banned sites become really a different player pool, i mean is not only americans out now, also spanish, french, etc. with all new laws make poker sites open they own .fr .sp etc. which divide a lot all player pool.

Agree with you JC, but most players on 2nl in general are lol bad anyway, not just shorstackers, don´t we lose value chasing this players with minim. money vs all the rest of same lol bad 2nl fish pool?.

I have my filter set to 20% players per flop for 6max - there are usually plenty of tables with a free seat at 2nl, a few at 5nl and 1 or 2 at 10nl.

Usually tables with a free seat at 10nl are full of Russian TAG regs though :/

I see you are hiding the full tables, in my experience it's better to get on waiting lists for juicy tables with 1 or 2 waiting than sit right down at those with a free seat. It doesn't take long to get on once you're waiting on many tables.

Like peels said, most important is to get some donks to your right.
