So I've been grinding 2nl full ring at four tables for the past two weeks and have found my self steadily making profits and hoping to move up the stakes soon but last night i had about a 1.5hr session and played about 250-300 hands, and basically I just wasn't catching anything! I was never hitting sets every time I went mining, my King high flush ran into Ace high flush, I would slow play sets (when I made them) and run into a rivered straight. AK, AQ would never hit... basically it was getting frustrating. I didn't end up loosing too much money thankfully but it just seemed as when I would be up at one table the next minute I would suck out at another, has anyone had similar run-bad experiences? How can I recover? BRM tips? basically I'm looking for someone to shed some light on this and give me some advice. Thanks everyone!

this graph will make you fill better, if you understand it. yellow line is where my winnings should be, and green is where they actually are.

as you can see in the graph it took me 109 days to play these 120.000 hands.
now.
since this happened I moved the rest of my money to other sites and won a few grand. my best advice is keep playing and keep cool, use brm.
post hands on the forum and get advice.

Welcome to poker.

Ya, you're not going to always flop the nuts or even top pair for that matter.

These type of sessions happen a lot, I use to have these sessions and write posts like this as I wasnt sure if my play was bad or just poker. Turns out it is just poker, its called variance and will happen now and then sometimes for long periods of time. Think of poker as a long term game instead of a session game.
If you make the right choices you will make profit in the long run.

You just have to look at the deep picture. One day can't define how good you are playing or how bad you are playing. I would just take a little break and get back to grinding with a fresh mind.

Sometimes when you are not hitting you hands, it might seem like you're not playing right but results will speak for themselves and its all about the long term.

250-300 hands is like a non sample size.

Give it 2,500-3,000 hands and see where you are.

Do you adjust your range according to position?

one thing - don't slow play a set on dangerous board, bet pot. It's better to win a little, than risk loosing a lot I think.
