I've moved up to $25nl and the results are good so far. But I need some advice. I play 9 or 10 player tables, but where I play, there are very few of those, but there are some 6 max tables, but I don't like those, and I really don't know why. But I guess if I want to play at that level, I will have to play 6 max most of the time. So you all, I need all the advice I can get that will help me play at that level and at 6 max tables. You guys/gals this is going to be real new for me. I need to know good and bad

6-max is going to be looser and more aggressive, so you're going to have to value-bet lighter and showdown lighter.

I would suggest dropping back down a stake while you're getting your feet wet in 6-max.

You should be playing more aggressively at a 6 max table. A good place to start is to get a good starting hand chart by position. You can find a bunch of info about that online. Once you have a good idea about what hands to be playing, 6 max should be less intimidating.

That's a good idea TimvieMan. So back to 10nl for experience. And you both say I need to play aggressive. I do that at 10 man tables, so is there anything different about being aggressive at 10 player tables than 6 max that I need to know before I get started. Sidetracked, I will start looking online for some needed info. What hands can I play and feel safe to call a raise.if I'm in early position. I guess the size of the raise will come into play there too. Ok I'm going start with the advice you have gave me so far, but I'm sure I will have to ask some more questions. Thanks you guys. This is the same way I got started at 2nl. It's been a long road, but it's been well worth the time I've spent getting where I am now. Thanks again

You will be 3 bet more often and you should be doing the same. Most of the hands should be heads up and many will not reach showdown. You must be ready to play for more money with less in your hand but at the same time avoid over playing it at the wrong time. It will be a big adjustment going from 10nl full ring to 6 max 25nl. The two are much different in how they play. You will need to be more willing to defend blinds and steal them as well while you wait for premium hands.

Thanks George Lewis. That's good advice and I plan to use what I get from you all just like I did from the very start here. I'm going to get all the feedback I can in the next two days before I start, and then I have to get in there and get my feet wet.

Play lower stakes of 6 max at first. 25NL 6max is going to be a lot harder then full ring.

Well Aces2W1n that's great. I hope a lot of players think the same thing. So there is no way I will change it now. Thanks for the advice. And thanks for your advice too IPlay. I had planned on doing that yesterday but seen the 25nl full ring game and got into that. Played 2 hours without catching many hands at all, and lost $3 and left. There are them days when it seems to be a waste of time when I'm staying pretty much even. So I go on and do something different. Thanks and GL to you all.

I'm playing at Full Flush and it's hard to find 25nl tables. It would have to be 5nl,10nl, or 50nl. So I'm just going to play what ever I find that day. Want to say thanks to you guys again for all the advice and support

when playing at a table with 6 players in the game takes place in line with looser than when playing at a table with 9 players . there are more frequent raises and reraises so if there ready to play the best of luck .
