Hello,

anyone else have this common theme:

you sit there for hours slowly winning hands through good solid poker and good reads making good laydowns and staying patient. Just solid ABC. THEN, yes of course you get top pair top kicker only to get stacked when someone either has a set or calls down weak and hits a miracle on the river. In turn losing all the cash that took you 4 hours to make. I know it happens, but the problem here is that it happens daily. Does this happen to you ? How do you deal with it? And also, should I ever try to bluff the 25nl level. I mean it just doesn't seem to work. Any response would be greatly appreciated

Stop stacking off with top pair.
Edit:You should drop down on your limits maybe 5nl or so.You need to study the game more, right now your a 25nl fish.

Post some of the hands you are losing with. Most likely you will get some advice that will show how you could have played it better.

Most likely its just a lack of experience or a case of playing your opponent / position wrong. Study your game to get better, and you will find this happen a lot less often.

Like Joe said, thats going to keep happening if your stacking with TPTK.

The only time im happy stacking TPTK is vs fish or over aggro donks etc. If your doing it vs nits and regs your going to come off 2nd best alot.

With regards to bluffing, yes you can but only against certain players that are capable of folding.

Now I really don't know your experience level or your bankroll to say your playing above your head and may need to came down a notch, but just the OP I can see you are spending too much time at the table. Limit your time the longer you stay the more likely this will always happen. I will say this tho, if you think you can't bluff at 25nl you may need to step down and study play at 25nl, cause it can be done you just have to know the timing and position. Like it was said in an earlier post, you should post some hands so we can see ur play and are you playing 6max or full ring 9 man? GL

Its all down to your opponent, if a passive opponent raises you on a dry board and your looking at top pair TP/GK, your probally beat,

if youve seen this guy raise this kind of board before with less than 2 pair, you got good reason to be calling down, or raising all in, maybe some fish who trying to get all in with no reads on the flop with top pair no kicker,

wet board, now its a little tricky coz theres a ton of draws that looking to raise, it all depends on the reads you have on your opponent, even if the opponent hasa draw your looking at a flop at best, if the opponent is passive,

how often are your opponents bluff raising? if hes not bluff raising what does he raise for value ?
