What would be the advantage to have 2K starting chips instead of the regular 1500 in a HU 10/20 no-blind increase game, other than the obvious it would make the game last longer?? They have a SnG at PS that does that! Just wondering as I just won two seperate HU SnGs using the regular 1500 chip starters for $5.50 buy-ins!

the more bb you start with the more skillfull player will prevail, becuase it offers more play for the better player to exploit his opponent. yes it might last longer but the varience will be lower in the long run

Exactly what he said. Tournament will last a bit longer (total chips are increased by 33%). But the better player has bigger odds of winning.

correcting you the total chips increase are 25%, however this give you a bit more of adventage if you didnt hit low cards at the beggining of the game.

Correcting you... it's 33%, and it simply allows skill to prevail more.

1500 * 2 = 2000?

lol where were you during the multiplication lesson? Obviously when you multiply, first you put the 2 at the front, then you take the 1 and since it starts with an o put a 0 in its place and then the 5 goes away because when you round (hint the number 0 is round) you just replace the 5 with 0. Then you come up with 2000 imo. QED.

Anyone notice anything wrong with my math? It's kind of advanced but I think I explained it pretty well.

NO. It's 50/50

All of your math is wrong. It's 50/50. Either you will or you won't.

See, before you can really even DO the math, you have to frame the problem correctly. I know this concept might be kind of high fallutin' for some of you, but believe me. I read it in a book.

By that reckoning I think you'll find it's 1/3 / 1/3 / 1/3 as the blinds don't increase and so the game could theoretically go on forever, or at least until the poker site goes bankrupt ;)

I defer to your clearly superior mathematical skills. All hail!
