i had a hand the other day in a cash game, i was holding A,2 another guy was holding A,K flop came A,2,8-7-8 and he took it down, did his king halp take down the pot ?

The best 5 card hand with those cards would be AA88K. It will beat your AA887.

Your two pair was counterfeited. You both had two pair AA88. He had AA88K and you had AA887

Yeah OP, as others state, you both hit top pair (aces) and you both river two pair Aces+eights so now kicker come in to play.

Always helps to post how you have played the hand. And I have never seen a flop with 5 cards. Maybe you should take some time to read some articles.
