Have 2-7 unsuited in the BB playing 1-3 NL HE at live poker room
8 players limp in the pot You are the last to act . You have a medium size stack in cash game with varying stack sizes at the table
Do you limp ? consider raising and try to buy the pot here?

I'd say that it's a definite limp. If you raise, at least one of the other players will likely call and then you are stuck OOP even if you have a hand to work with post-flop.

Pretty decent chance that someone has a hand to call and play post-flop, trying to steal is too risky there.

It really depends on your stack size and the game you're playing. You could definitely put a decent raise in to minimize who you're playing against, and then that flop could change anything.

Well very villain dependent to me ( How well do you know their play ) in my local casino the cast doesn't change much or often at least in cash games ... most are there for pure fun, total recs ... and you are out of position so also depends on your play style ... for me .. a good 80 % of the time, with no more info than that ... I'm taking a stab there and see where it goes ..... and if nothing else it improves your table image imo : )

No matter how you construct your ranges or what situation comes up, you can always find better hands to use than the worst one.

The only exception I can find for the moment is if it is profitable to raise 100% of your hands. For example if a person folds his blinds all the time.

Or if someone is super scare on the bubble in a tournament and folds everything just to secure a place in the money.

Otherwise ALWAYS fold or take a free flop with 7,2 in a cash game.

Agree, especially with 8 limpers. If I squeeze i like at least some possible playability post-flop.

I'd rather just hope to check it all down honestly. Especially with such a junky hand as this and on a board that doesn't really hit my ranges.

There is absolute no reason why would you raise in that position. But there are two theoretical options in which you can win despite raising and these are:
1.you limp or raise and flop is amazing to you,you hit three 7s or three 2s at least and then get full house or maybe poker in the end.
2.you scared them off,now this is highly unlikely especially in low stakes game but happens, maybe you got reputation of very tight player or just your opponents don't want to risk their money in the end if you make a big raise.
Anyway these options are legendary if you succeed in them but are highly unlikely in practice avoid trying it.

Okay so most response is a No. just limp.
How about suited connection in BB say 7-8
Anyone would raise and play OPP post flop in case there are callers?

Just check (call) in the BB and hope to hit something on the flop. Against 8 players, someone will call a raise, and anyway, most of the time you'll be beat.

I’d definitely just limp in this situation and hope the flop works in your favour.

i think you just take the flop. I can't really imagine a realistic situation where buying the pot is possible.

When the entire table has limped in, there is absolutely no point in raising other hands from BB than absolute premiums, and you should use a very large size. With everything else you just take a free flop and only continue, if you smash the flop with 2 pair + or a huge draw. There is nothing wrong with playing a family pot, when you did not even contribute to it. You are basically freerolling in this situation.

2-7.. burn in hell this card. Unless you have to call someone on the BB, and not much. Just see the flop. How often have I folded 2-7 and watched the flop like 223. Soooo saaaaaaaad :D

Dont you even think that someone is limping with a monster hoping for a raise?
just run the numbers how many times you get away with it and how many times youwill get burned.
You are so lucky to get to see the flop with this garbage and you might flop a monster like 2 deuces.

definetly make a hefty raise, This waht is comonly called limpers tax. Most will fold and unless somone is hiding s good hand, you will probably take the pot with a continuattion bet. If you didnt allreafy win preflop.

Considering they are all limping in, I would say they are very passive players and probably not that good. With that being said, I would say if you raise you will get at least a caller or 2 and would be playing a bad hand OOP. I would just check it and see a free flop.

You have the worst hand in the 2nd to worst position, why on earth would you want to raise this pot?

8 limpers? Limp in and hope you hit the board harder than Muhammad Ali. Other than that, 72 is worthless and should never be considered something to open with, unless for the memes - if that's case may the poker gods carry you to victory/

Check, if the flop helps we play, if not fold.
