I've been analysing my game in a bit more detail lately, and I have a scenario for 4 betting written below. It doesn't happen often, but given that every 4B is a fair chunk of my stack on the table, I feel like getting it right is a big deal.

So, should I be 4-betting when my equity against a range is greater than 50%? I have put together a hand below to (hopefully) explain what I'm thinking.

Hero (MP) - AKs
Tag Villain (CO) 3B range ~5% (JJ+, AJs+, KJs+, AQo+)

If hero opens at MP and Villain 3-bets, is it +EV to 4-bet in this spot? Hero equity PF is 56% against perceived range, although admittedly that is skewed to include more broadway cards than pairs so this is perhaps a bit misleading. And if we do 4B and villain flats, should our general line be c-bet every flop, and x/f turn if we miss?

If villain 5B shoves, and we assume that means QQ+, we fold unless the pot is more profitable than our new equity at 34.5%? I can't imagine many cases where we would get the odds to call unless villain was a short stack, in which case 4B shove or flatting the 3B might be better?

I am assuming a vacuum, because it's 10NL, so I would rule out any 5B shoves because I don't think they will affect profitability enough.

Yep.

I use this table and it shows profit with 100bb stacks: [old link~tb]

Calling is also good if he will autobet every check even if A or K hit the board.

Just dont 4bet AK/AKs, such an overrated hand, just call and play a flop.

And 4bet fold to 5bet, just wtf. if we are folding to a 5bet, what are we 4betting for?

And dont forget rake. 56% is actually probably about 50% when we consider rake.

I'd be weary to call with AKA OOP though. IP should be okay. Reason we're 4 betting Is because AK is such an awesome blocker but yet playing it OOP in a 3bet pot is pretty difficult without notes on opponents 3bet pot plays cause in the end...AK is A high.

I agree with almost never calling a shove from a regular tag. AK is an easy shove in most bvb confrontations though, provided neither of you 3 bets like 2 percent

You can destroy these games...

.. But you need more information... Remember that you have three more streets to consider while your making this decision. What's he gonna do on the flop with his QQ, will he be cbetting Ahigh boards, will he barrel regardless of the turn, perhaps he's the kinda guy who will be check folding his AK when it misses, this is worth big money.

These players have such big holes in there game that you can exploit them in millions of spots. U just need to get the stats, for this one we need to see how he acts in a 3bet pot type situation.

For 3 years I've made 7bbs from the 200 games
