If you someone can please help me with these question.

There are not allot of loose players on 10nl so its difficult to table select.

If you don't have a HUD it will be tougher but not impossible. I know people who have beat NL10 without HUD. I'm not a regular of NL10, I play NL5 but what I would do is to play in less tables at the same time, in order to put more attention on the players on the table and write lots of notes, to compensate in some way the fact that you don't have a HUD. In NL10 I think there are a considerable % of players who do have a HUD, so if you buy one it will help you a lot. But first try the trial versions before buying it. And then you need to learn how to use it and interpret correctly the stats. I would practise a bit in NL5 or even NL2 to get used to the HUD, before using it directlyin NL10

I do not think there is much difference between 4NL and 10NL.

Try and put the price of the blinds out of your mind and just look at it for what it is a poker game. I think the reason a lot of players have trouble when moving from 4 to 10 is that they try to hard to change their game which is not needed.

If you are a solid winner at 4NL then you should be good enough to beat 10NL in my opinion.

Did you say you are using a HUD ? What is your winrate at 4NL ?

I do not play full ring I play 6 max so have no idea what your HUD stats should be. I run around 21/18 3-bet 6 at 6 max and that is considered a TAG.

It is OK saying that you want to play tight as a default method but you should be taking into consideration how your table is running and what players are at that table before deciding how to play. If you are at a table full of loose passive fish then yes playing tight would be the best option but if you are at a table full of nits then opening up a bit would not be a bad idea.

When it comes to table selecting I would focus more on my seating position rather than the actual table. Try and have the fish to your right and more tight players to your left. Another bit of advice would be to try and avoid getting in to big pots with the more aggressive regs until you are comfortable at that level.

GL anyway mate :)

I agree with the opinion that there is not of a difference in the class of players at these limits. Worst fish sitting on micro limits. The best and most powerful regulars sit on the exorbitant peaks. Everything between: medium, but smart regs.

I do have a hud i played tourneys before deciding to play cash.I played 2nl and i def felt i beated 2nl.Problem with 2nl is i grinded $6 in 5 hours. So i decided to skip 5nl cause i thought it was the same. The problem with 10nl for me is there are almost no 20%+ player per flop like 2nl even at 5nl on stars.I love playing vs allot of players.
So is it ok to play vs some regs on your left like you say??What if i don't get a table with fish so many nits in these limits
Thanks for your info
cheers

So you have only played a total of 5 hours at 2NL and 0 hours at 5NL ?

With such a small sample of hands you do not even know if you are good enough to beat 2NL never mind 5NL.

If this your first time playing cash games in my opinion you should maybe concentrate on playing poker and improving your game rather than moving up so fast.

Play 50k hands at 2NL and if you have a decent winrate (I would say 7.5bb/100 or more) and your bankroll allows you to move up to 5NL. Again play another 50k hands at 5NL and if you are winning at something like 5bb/100 or more and you have enough in your roll to move up, move up.

How many tables do you play at a time ? What is your bank roll ? You say you like getting involved in a lot of pots then I would suggest maybe switching from full ring to 6 max where there will be a lot more action. That is the reason I play 6 max, I find full ring too slow and boring. (Just my opinion of course)

oops. that's what i get for trying to reply on a smart phone. Was gonna say 7.5bb/100 is very good but not unheard of above 100,000 hands and outright amazing above 200,000.

I spent alot of time replying to this while standing in line at the RMV this morning but lost it all before I could hit the send. All for the best 'cause I think I got a bit carried away, but here's the gist of it.

Ahem. Raise a lot and fold alot. If you're facing a raise and your hands too good to fold, 3 bet. At full ring your vpip should be about 20% and your pfr% should not be a whole lot less. Calling is for very special occasions only and you should a feel a bit sick to your stomach when you do.

The end.

Tight micro tables are the best! These players are all playing a version of TAG, and you can exploit them by aggressively playing a slightly wider range than they are. Just be prepared to shut down when they get sticky. If you start getting a lot of action you need to switch gears and play tight for a while.
